They are there to alert the owner/operator to potential electrical faults when he pulls into a transient marina and plugs into the shore power system. This is an important safety feature for boaters who cruise to new freshwater ports. The modules sense stray electrical current in the water that can lead to electric shock drowning. Overall, the 38 GLS is feature-rich and needs to be seen.
