This 48-footer has three different layouts.Overblue makes yachts that offer the comforts of a home, full of innovative solutions to the challenges of comfort aboard, and yet cruise on catamaran hulls. The Italian builder has designs from 44 to 68 feet that have customizable interiors, huge amounts of deck space including large flying bridges as big as those found on a megayacht, and yet run on catamaran hulls with twin diesel power. ![Overblue Delivers Superyacht Spaces in 48 Feet](/sites/default/files/inline-images/overblue_superyacht_salon_2018.jpg) A spacious salon with formal dining area and LED lighting has the deck space of a much larger yacht – or that of a small house, or waterfront condo. Overblue says the 48 rides on a pair of catamaran hulls that make it an efficient boat under way and a stable platform at anchor or at the dock. The 48-footer can have diesel engines rated for up to 330-hp that give the boat speeds up to 19 knots, according to the builder. The boat is a displacement hull power cat, with 1,239 sq. ft. Because of its design, the structure is supported largely by its rigid outer skin, meaning the onboard space is unencumbered by necessary structural elements. That means the interior can be created to suit the needs of an owner with luxury accommodations, or one with a large family with room for more guests. The hull sections are molded from composite and bonded together, allowing flexibility in the length of the finished boat. Because the accommodations are built on top of the catamaran hulls, the living space is all on one deck. All Overblue models have a molded hydraulic awning over the master suite foredeck balcony, designed to protect the large window forward.
