This variety gives the Regal 43 SAV a wide range of exiting performance opportunities. ![43 SAV running](/sites/default/files/inline-images/image_2158.png) The Regal 43 SAV rides on her exclusive OceanTrac2 hull, specifically designed to provide outstanding handling in a wide variety of sea conditions. Our test day saw the air temperature at 87°F with relative humidity at 90%, and wind registering 7 knots resulting in calm seas. There were four people on board, full fuel, and approximately one-half tank of water and diesel fuel for the generator. At 5900 rpm we clocked our Regal 43 SAV test boat at a WOT speed of 58.7 mph and found our best cruise at 3500 rpm while traveling at 29.0 mph. We calculated our range at that turn of speed to be 267.0 statute miles with a 10% of fuel in reserve. We got her up on plane at about 3400 rpm and 22 mph. During hole shots, we noted 0-10 mph is 4.0 seconds, 0-20 mph in 7.0 seconds, and 0-30 mph in 10 seconds. Using our joystick controller in close quarters situations, as well as getting in and out of the marina, proved making those maneuvers about as worry-free as possible with excellent responses to the commands. Once out into the seaway, and with plenty of room to put her through a series of hard turns, we noted rock-steady, outstanding handling and very little rpm drop during those moves. With our trio of 600-hp V12 Mercury outboards powering our Regal 43 SAV test boat, exhilarating performance was noted all around and especially during WOT and best cruise runs where she tracked and true. ## Summary Family-owned Regal Boats has, from its inception in 1969, stood on a platform of providing its owners with a quality-built, innovative product based on utilizing the latest in technology and building techniques.
