## Brief Summary

The new TAHOE 2150 comes well-equipped for watersports and general family enjoyment, with standard features including a drop-down changing room attached to the standard Bimini, bow and stern ladders and a carry-off ice chest stowed under the cockpit seat. But she can also be equipped to go fishing — the optional fish package includes swiveling fishing seats that can be mounted bow and stern or stowed away in a dedicated compartment when not needed. The package also includes an aerated livewell in the bow, a fishfinder and a trolling motor.

With the biggest available motor — a 225-hp outboard -- the 2150 tops 50 mph and the optional tower will appeal to wakeboarders.### Mission Statement

The TAHOE 2150 is designed to be a do-everything deckboat that takes advantage of the extra interior space that comes with powering her with an outboard motor. She’s rated for 11 passengers and the cockpit has a deep feel that should appeal to families.
Her fiberglass deep-V design cuts through lake chop and has three lifting strakes per side plus reverse chines to help the 2150 plane off quickly, which should make her a capable towing machine for watersports.
Base power is a 150-hp outboard and buyers can upgrade to as much as 225-hp. She comes standard with a refreshment center, cockpit table and a removable ski tow pylon. To customize the 2150, TAHOE offers optional packages for wakeboarding, entertaining with an electronics/stereo upgrade or fishing.

![Tahoe 2150](/sites/default/files/inline-images/tahoe_2150_bow_2015.jpg)
The 2150’s 8’6” (2.59 m) beam is carried as far forward as possible, which creates a spacious bow seating area.

### Power and Performance

Deckboat buyers are looking for passenger capacity and sporty performance in a single package and the 2150 has both. Base power is a 150-hp Mercury 4-stroke outboard and buyers can upgrade to a maximum of 225-hp. We tested the boat with a 225-hp Mercury Verado 4-stroke outboard turning an Enertia three-blade stainless-steel prop.

### We hit a top speed

of 51.1 mph at 5900 rpm, burning 22.95 gph for a range of 92 miles. We saw our best cruising speed of 31.8 mph at 4000 rpm where we burned 8.85 gph, resulting in a range of 149 miles.

### In acceleration tests

, the 2150 planed in 4.3 seconds. We ran out to 20 mph in 5.6 seconds and to 30 mph in 8.8 seconds. There was brief but noticeable bow rise that did briefly restrict driver visibility. We asked TAHOE about this and the manufacturer said that the combination of the fuel cell, which is positioned aft, being nearly full and the light load in the bow accentuated the condition. With a boat like the 2150, there would almost always be passengers on the forward lounges and that should help limit the bow rise.

![Tahoe 2150 running shot](/sites/default/files/inline-images/tahoe_2150_running2_2015.jpg)
The 2150’s bottom features three lifting strakes per side and a reverse chine to help the boat plane quickly.

### In maneuvers

, the 2150 handled well, whipping smoothly through S turns and tracking steadily through circles. She comes around in a short radius, which means a driver can get back to a fallen skier or boarder quickly.

![Tahoe 2150 running shot](/sites/default/files/inline-images/tahoe_2150_running3_2015.jpg)
The 2150 tracked well through turns and our test captain liked the positive feel provided by standard hydraulic steering.

### Features Inspection

### The Bow

The 2150 comes standard with a large bow platform that has enough fore-to-aft depth for an adult to hang out. There’s a four-step beach boarding ladder beneath a hatch to starboard, and the anchor locker is centrally located with an integrated tray for hanging a Danforth-style model. The bow has three pull-up cleats—two outboard, and one in the center just ahead of the anchor locker for tying off the rode. This is as it should be, but rarely is on most deckboats, particularly price-point boats.

![Tahoe 2150 bow platform](/sites/default/files/inline-images/tahoe_2150_bowplatform_2015.jpg)
The bow platform has enough space for an adult to sit and watch kids play or to add the optional trolling motor.

### The anchor locker

was re-designed after customers complained that the compartment on previous models made it hard to install the trolling motor. The 2150 is pre-wired for the motor and the optional fishing package comes with a 75-lb. thrust trolling motor with a key fob control, a Lowrance fishfinder and other accessories that we’ll go into detail later.

![Tahoe 2150 anchor locker](/sites/default/files/inline-images/tahoe_2150_anchorlocker_2015.jpg)
The anchor locker’s hatch is notched for the rode to pass through when it’s closed.

![Tahoe 2150 four step ladder](/sites/default/files/inline-images/tahoe_2150_fourstepladder_2015.jpg)
The four-step ladder on the bow platform stores beneath a hatch that keeps the walking surface un-cluttered.

### The Cockpit.

Passengers can move into the cockpit by stepping over a low section of the deck in the bow. Another product of customer feedback, the bow cushion secures with snap-down straps and a forward bead and track fastener. The snaps to which those straps secure are in the outboard lockers beneath the hinged cushions. With the forward cushion out of the way, a hatch opens to reveal an insulated compartment that could be used as a cooler or livewell. The mount for a removable table is located on the base of this seat.

![Tahoe 2150 cooler](/sites/default/files/inline-images/tahoe_2150_cooler_2015.jpg)
Beneath the bow cushion, the 2150 has an insulated compartment that can be used as a cooler or a livewell with the optional fishing package.

![Tahoe 2150 bow cusion](/sites/default/files/inline-images/tahoe_2150_bowcushion_2015.jpg)
Straps for the central bow cushion secure with snaps in the outboard storage compartments.

### Bow Lounges.

Lounges on each side of the bow have space for an average-sized adult to sit facing forward with his or her legs stretched out. The cushions are hinged and they open to expose molded lockers in the base.
TAHOE angled the stainless grab rails to make them more comfortable. There are two speakers and two of the 11 stainless-steel cup holders in the boat’s bow. On the starboard side, the backrest on the front side of the helm console opens to provide access to the 2150’s fuse panel and extra storage.

![Tahoe 2150 bow backrests](/sites/default/files/inline-images/tahoe_2150_bowbackrests_2015.jpg)
The backrests for the bow lounges come up to our test captain’s shoulder blades and the stainless rail is comfortably positioned.

![Tahoe 2150 bow lockers](/sites/default/files/inline-images/tahoe_2150_bowlockers_2015.jpg)
The lockers in the bow have a molded finish and the cushions are hinged, but we’d like to see TAHOE use a gas strut to hold it up. This would make it easier to retrieve the contents.

![Tahoe 2150 backrest access](/sites/default/files/inline-images/tahoe_2150_backrestaccess_2015.jpg)
The hinged backrest for the starboard lounge in the bow opens to access the back of the instrument panel and this fuse panel shown above.

![Tahoe 2150 table mount](/sites/default/files/inline-images/tahoe_2150_tablemount_2015.jpg)
Putting the mount for the removable table in the base of the bow lounge is better than a receptacle in the cockpit sole because it eliminates the potential for tripping and for collecting debris such as pine needles and food crumbs.

![Tahoe 2150 table leg](/sites/default/files/inline-images/tahoe_2150_tableleg_2015.jpg)
The lightweight steel table leg slips into the receptacle.

![Tahoe 2150 table](/sites/default/files/inline-images/tahoe_2150_table_2015.jpg)
And the table can be positioned lengthwise or laterally.

### The Wet Bar

Amidships to port, the refreshment center comes with a molded sink, a pull-out faucet and two drink holders. The sink cover is hinged and has a notch in it to hold up the faucet. The water fill is in the deck just outboard of the refreshment center.

### Responding to customer concerns

about the difficulty of keeping the water tank clean on older models, TAHOE has now put the drain for the 5-gallon (18.9 L) tank in the bottom and the whole reservoir is removable for cleaning. There’s a storage net on the refreshment center locker hatch plus additional space in the compartment.

![Tahoe 2150 refreshment center](/sites/default/files/inline-images/tahoe_2150_wetbar_2015.jpg)
The refreshment center comes standard with a pull-out faucet and pressurized water system.

![Tahoe 2150 storage locker](/sites/default/files/inline-images/tahoe_2150_storagelocker_2015.jpg)
The base of the refreshment center has a storage locker with this net on the hatch. With the optional fishing package, there would be slots for two tackle boxes in place of the net.

![Tahoe 2150 ski locker](/sites/default/files/inline-images/tahoe_2150_skilocker_2015.jpg)
The ski locker has space for boards and skis with racks for a paddle and the stern light. It might be a good idea to line the bottom with rubber mat.

### The Helm

Across from the refreshment center to starboard, the helm has a sliding, swiveling seat with a fold-up bolster. The dark gray finish reduces glare on the speedometer, tachometer and gauges for fuel, trim, water pressure and volts. In the center of the panel is a bungee cord to hold a cell phone in place and just ahead is a 12-volt power plug.
To improve the 2150’s appearance, the screws for the windscreen are hidden on the inside of the acrylic part instead of the usual fasteners on the outside. To the right side of the steering wheel is the accessory switch panel. As we’ve seen on other boats from the parent company Tracker Marine Group, the 2150 has a master power switch that shuts down the whole panel.

![Tahoe 2150 gauges](/sites/default/files/inline-images/tahoe_2150_gauges_2015.jpg)
The gauges are separated on each side of the tilt wheel and the optional depth sounder is installed outboard to starboard.

![Tahoe 2150 shift throttle](/sites/default/files/inline-images/tahoe_2150_shiftthrottle_2015.jpg)
Beneath the shift/throttle control and outboard of the driver’s seat, the 2150 comes standard with a rack to hold three fishing rods.

### The Aft Seating Area

Across from the helm, the L-shaped rear seating wraps around from abaft the port refreshment center to the starboard passageway to the stern. An adult can sit aft facing comfortably. The two bottom cushions fold up and beneath the forward pad is the rack for the cockpit table post. The table straps in place in the aft locker along the port side.
A 36-quart (34 L) removable cooler is beneath the aft bench seat cushion that straps down with a rubber bungee-style fastener. The hatch for the cooler locks into a cleat on the underside of the cushion to make it easier to get to the contents. Pull out the cooler and there’s an inspection hatch that provides access to the fuel tank fittings and sending units.
The backrest for the bench seat also opens on custom hinges that hold it up to reveal the removable ski tow pylon that threads into a receptacle on the stern deck.

![Tahoe 2150 bungee](/sites/default/files/inline-images/tahoe_2150_bungee_2015.jpg)
The table post secures with a bungee beneath the aft port lounge bottom cushion and there are two tow rope racks in the locker.

### The Transom

A latching gate closes off the starboard passageway to the 2150’s stern. In the bulwark to starboard, TAHOE placed the remote for the stereo system and a shorepower plug, both of which are part of the electronics upgrade package. To port is an open storage locker while to starboard, a hatch in the walking surface opens to access the battery. Just aft is a four-step ladder. FYI—most deckboats and sportboat builders install only three steps.

### Construction

TAHOE builds the 2150 with a hand-laid hull and deck that are chemically bonded and mechanically fastened. The full-length stringer system is foam filled and gelcoated. For the hullsides, buyers can choose from Black, Black Cherry, Storm Blue, Red or Blueberry.

![Tahoe 2150 tower](/sites/default/files/inline-images/tahoe_2150_towerknobs_2015.jpg)
Pull and twist the knobs in the base of the optional tower on each side.

![Tahoe 2150 bimini top](/sites/default/files/inline-images/tahoe_2150_biminitop_2015.jpg)
Then the tower can be lowered forward. Fold up the Bimini top to reduce the height for low bridges.

### Options to Consider

• ### Fishing Package.

Includes a 24-volt, 75-lb. thrust trolling motor with a 60” shaft and key fob control, a Lowrance Mark-5X fishfinder, dual 27-group batteries, a 15-gallon (56.8 L) insulated livewell with pump, two pedestal mount fishing seats, an 8-amp charger for trolling batteries, two gunwale-mounted rod holders and two tackle trays in the refreshment center.

• ### Electronics Package.

Includes a stereo upgrade with a 3.5” Kicker LCD display, a 500-watt amplifier, a 10” subwoofer and upgraded speakers, a remote control in the stern, a charger for the cranking battery and digital depth finder.

• Snap-on color-keyed TAHOE cockpit cover with support poles.• Charcoal-colored towable TAHOE mooring cover with rope and ratchet.• Wakeboard tower, includes black Bimini top.• Two board racks on tower.• Snap-in woven vinyl flooring### Price

The TAHOE 2150 has a base price of $33,595 with a Mercury 150 XL FourStroke.

### Observations

With outboard power, rated seating capacity for 11 people and plenty of storage, the TAHOE 2150 should serve the needs of a typical boating family that goes boating on a river or lake. Depending on the power, she can run 50 mph and she has the power for towing watersports.
