Yamaha and Siren say this capability should improve engine reliability and extend service life, while the stream of anonymized data will give Yamaha valuable insight for future product development and customer support. In effect, Yamaha outboards are becoming nodes in a wider connected network, monitored by the company as closely as a Siren system allows an owner to monitor the boat itself.
