2009 Hinckley 44 Talaria - Downeast Staying Power

From a distance, in profile, only a trained-eye could tell the difference between a 2009 Hinckley 44 Talaria and a brand new Talaria 43 Mark III. The new version has a lot more tumble home in the stern quarters, larger air intakes on the cabin sides, but other than that, she looks about the same. This 2009 Talaria which we recently inspected has aged well, and the cozy, traditional interior looks none the worse for wear.

BoatTEST Comment:
Hinckley has a long-standing tradition of building some of the finest yachts in the world, renowned for their exceptional craftsmanship and iconic design. With a limited production of just 30 to 35 boats each year, every Hinckley is a unique testament to meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality that has been upheld for decades.

Cruising along the New England coast, it's a pleasure to see so many of these beautiful vessels, each a timeless piece of art on the water. The sight of a Hinckley moored in front of a waterfront home speaks to a shared appreciation for nautical heritage and elegant design. These boats are not just vessels; they are a celebration of a life well-lived and a nod to a legacy that has attracted generations of discerning owners, from storied families like the Fords and Rockefellers to modern innovators such as Martha Stewart, who has a Hinckley but says she doesn’t use it much. (When does she have time?)

Beyond their classic aesthetic, Hinckley yachts are at the forefront of innovation, incorporating advanced technology that enhances the boating experience. From their pioneering use of fiberglass to their modern JetStick® control systems, Hinckley seamlessly blends tradition with cutting-edge performance.

While this pre-owned Hinckley won't cost you the $2 million of a new model, it still offers the same timeless design and iconic look. It's a smart way to own a legendary yacht and still have change left over for a condo in Aspen.
