2021 Cannes Boat Show Report

Cannes Yachting Festival

View of Le Vieux Port, one of two protected harbors that are part of the Cannes Yachting Festival, where the motoryachts were on display. The show ran from September 7-12.

Other than the high spirits and bonhomie that swept the festival, the most notable aspect of the show was the large number of truly innovative motoryachts that made their European debut.  We think many of the point the way to the future direction of motoryacht design.  Take a look at more than 30 yachts that caught our eye for one reason or another.

Azimut Grande Trideck

The builder says that it has already taken orders for 10 Azimut Grande Trideck yachts that measure 125’5” x 26’2” (38.22 x 7.98 m), and displaces 418,874 lbs. (190 tonnes). This is a virtually unheard of number of boats in this price category that have sold so quickly. Azimut reports that in the last 90 days, its order book swelled over € 500 and total booking amount to € 1.2 billion for the year. For more info…

Princess X95

The new Princess X95 is a remarkable departure for Princess, which has long been known for its conservative and measured approach to yacht design. The new X95 is nothing short of a spectacular execution of a floating entertainment palace that turns the bow into a protected, underway social area just forward of a raised master stateroom. Above, in the bow, is a Jacuzzi with waterfall. But that’s only the start. The X95 is 95’6” x 22’3” (29.1 x 2.01 m), carries 2,948 U.S. gallons (13,400 L) of fuel and is powered by 2 x MAN 12V-1900 engines.  For more info…
