BoatTEST Comment: What sets the Boston Whaler 405 Conquest apart from every boat in her class is that she has full flotation, which means that she will float level if swamped, something unheard of in the 40’ range. Make no mistake about it, the 405 is not a center console with benefits – rather, she is an express cruiser from stem to stern. Because the hull is foam filled, when driving her in a seaway she has a solid feel and sound. Her mid cabin is large for her size and has a higher overhead than most boats this size. She has three mini galleys/wet bars – transom, main deck and below, opposite an L-shaped settee. She is a well-engineered and built vessel that should hold her value relative to others on the used boat market, just as most Boston Whalers do.
