The Next Level of Surfing
The Fliteboard eFoil is an electrically powered surfboard attached to a foil beneath the surface. It’s designed to give the sensation of flying over the water. Powered by an electric motor, it can carve turns like a snowboard or a wakeboard, but it doesn’t need snow or a tow boat. It can be ridden anywhere and produces zero emissions. Triton 20 TrX:
Bass Boat Built to Run Hard
The Triton 20 TrX is built with a solid internal support system.
Holding bottom shape at 75 mph+ in bass boats is important to achieve max speed and handling. The Triton 20 TrX is constructed to stand up to the rigors of the sport, and the image above shows how the builder does it. The company’s Zero Flex Stringer System consists of two longitudinal members that run bow to stern plus seven transverse members all fabricated outside the boat and laminated in place as a single piece. The design is intended to reduce hull flex. The full-width composite transom features bustles and was developed to evenly distribute the weight of the outboard motor. More...

Howard Arneson Dies at 99
Howard Arneson, whom many credit with inventing the surface-piercing drive, died Tuesday night at his home in San Rafael, Calif. As reported by Speedonthewater.com, he was 99 years old. An entrepreneur who also developed the Arneson Pool Sweep, a vacuum for swimming pools, Arneson developed his version of the surface drive in the late 1970s. He refined it on the offshore racecourse, campaigning his own boats and working with numerous competitors to improve the drive. In 1992, Arneson sold manufacturing rights to Twin Disc Corporation.
Arneson’s most famous boat arguably was a 32’ Skater catamaran powered by a 1,323-hp engine. In September 1990, Arneson piloted the boat 1,039 miles up the Mississippi River from New Orleans to St. Louis, smashing the previous record by more than seven hours. He covered the distance in 12 hours, 40 minutes and 50 seconds.
