Ask Capt. Steve - Why Do You Run Old Boat Ads?

Thanks for your question, Mike. First, our reports on boats are not ads.  Rather, they are our descriptions of boats which were written concurrently with their production, giving our readers information so that they could make an informed buying decision. Ads are what you find in boating magazines. 

We have tested 2500 boats over the 22 years of Boat TEST’s existence.  Since most of those boats are no longer in production, we have archived them, leaving only the boats still in production accessible by all BoatTEST users. 

We keep the “old” boat tests and videos available, simply because over 80% of the people buying a “new boat” each year, are buying “old” boats.  Many of those boat buyers come to Boat TEST to see our video tests, read their performance numbers, and use our comparison feature with other boats in class. It helps them make the right decision.
