The industry has celebrated several high-profile launches and deliveries, including the world's first fuel-cell superyacht and Dragonfly, the highly anticipated, 142.1-meter Lürssen. But in the world of superyacht construction, there's always something to look forward to.

At 194.9 meters (639'4"), REV Ocean retains its status as the largest yacht under construction globally. She is set to be the flagship of Norwegian shipyard Vard, with a design courtesy of Espen Øino and H2 Yacht Design. Work on this monumental project paused in 2021 and resumed in 2023, with launch now anticipated for 2025. At the 2024 Explorer Yachts Summit, REV Ocean CEO, Nina Jensen, provided insights into the yacht’s ambitious mission, design and construction journey, noting its potential as a scientific research platform. Jensen, who has previously described REV Ocean as a "science vessel on steroids", highlighted the scale and scope of the record-breaking initiative.
