Knowing how to properly trim a boat is important to getting the most out of it in terms of performance, efficiency and ride quality. Smaller boats powered by sterndrives and outboards use the engines or drives to adjust the trim. On larger vessels, trim tabs and interceptors can also be manipulated. There are also automated systems that take over the job of adjusting the trim. We think the operator should still know the basics if an automatic system fails, so this video is a good place to start.
