Hello Boater
Formula 360 Crossover Bowrider
60 MPH Day Boat
A quick correction from last week: We reported an incorrect top speed on the Formula 360. While the boat's FAS3Tech stepped hull is pure performance DNA, the top speed with 2x MerCruiser® Twin 8.2L MAG sterndrives is approximately 47 mph, not 60 mph. We regret the oversight. But she can absolutely hit 60 mph when equipped with Mercury V12 outboards!
The rest of the original description stands. You get all the party space up front and a stand-up cabin below for overnighting. She’s designed to be effortlessly fast, meaning you'll get a blast of speed without spilling your beverage.
FOLD-OUT BEACH CLUB Saxdor is known for aggressive modular performance hulls. Her most striking feature is the full-beam deck extension, created by folding down the hydraulic side terraces. This radically expands the social area, blurring the lines between open and closed boating. She delivers exhilarating speed with the ability to turn the cockpit into a floating beach club, combining open-air freedom with efficiency.
BUY ONCE & CHANGE LATER Aiata arrives backed by major industrial strength, delivering a vessel designed to change when she needs to. Her twin-step hull, penned by the same architect as Axopar, runs over 50 knots, but the real story is her architecture. Almost every module—from the sun top to the fishing station—can be swapped out post-purchase. A boat for the next decade.
FLIP VS. FLY — One vessel sliced through waves to set a non-fossil-fuel circumnavigation record before her dramatic demise; the other plunges 300 feet underwater to achieve unmatched stability for science. They represent the extremes of naval architecture: speed and stillness. Read the incredible stories of the Earthrace trimaran and the R/P FLIP research platform—two outliers acquired for new missions, defying conventional design.
FLORIDA STATE LINES Cruising the ICW into the Sunshine State? The FWC has specific rules many boaters overlook. Learn which operators must carry a Boating Safety Education ID Card (hint: age, not experience, is the factor) and discover the non-negotiable PFD rules for the youngest sailors on smaller vessels. Don't let an inspection end your vacation early; know the specific Florida differences now.
PHYSICS OPTIONAL. GRAVITY MANDATORY. See why a simple parking brake is a boater's best friend. This week's featured fails include a scenic solo cruise by a prized vessel, a sports car's unfortunate encounter with the beach, and a yacht that attempted to dock in a space fit only for a dinghy!
