Monday #1
Boston Whaler 325 Conquest:
Express Fish w/Good Systems Access
The Boston Whaler 325 Conquest is a do-everything express fishboat that has many somewhat complex systems on board. For that reason, Whaler engineers have designed in handy access to the batteries, generator, pumps, plumbing and through-hull fittings. In some boats we test in class, important systems are installed in places requiring the reach of an orangutan. A large hatch in the center of the cockpit opens on twin gas struts to make it easy to access all the mechanical equipment including the optional Seakeeper gyroscopic stabilizer. Of course, she’s unsinkable, too. More...

Cabo 41:
Classic Inboard Sportfisherman
The Cabo 41 is designed, engineered and built to be an offshore sportfishing platform that blends bluewater capabilities with luxurious accoutrements. Cabos are targeted at owner/operators who do their own maintenance and her engine compartment has 6’3” (1.91 m) of headroom and just under 3’ (.89 m) of space between her 715-hp Cummins engines. Belowdecks, she sleeps four in air-conditioned comfort and the galley is equipped for preparing a real meal. More...

Back Cove 32:
Downeast Cruiser Can Entertain, Too
With a single inboard engine, the Back Cove 32 is a Downeast-style yacht that should appeal to most cruising couples. She’s affordable to operate for coastal overnight trips and has a forward cabin with a separate shower compartment, a rarity in this size range. If guests need to spend the night, the salon lounge can be converted to a berth. For day trips and entertaining, she has a single-level deck layout and the cockpit and salon can accommodate a crowd. Formula 500 SSC:
Available with NEW 600-hp Merc V12 Verados
With the introduction of the new V12 Mercury Verado 600-hp outboard, Formula can now equip its 500 Super Sport Crossover with four of the new V12 engines for a total of 2,400 hp. Prior to introducing the Verado 600 on February 11, Mercury tested a 500 SSC with four of the new outboards at the engine manufacturer’s Lake X facility, hitting a top speed of 69 mph at 6400 rpm. Take a look at our first take on the Formula 500 SSC last month, before the new Mercury engine was announced. Now, buyers of this remarkable Super Sport Crossover have some very exciting options for power. More...

Hinckley Picnic Boat 37 MKIII:
A Modern Classic by Any Name
A quarter-century ago, Hinckley introduced the original Picnic Boat, a Downeast-style yacht that paired a jet drive with a joystick and a traditional Hinckley interior. The design was so popular that other builders started launching models referred to as “Picnic Boats.” As expected, Hinckley’s attorneys, and a judge’s ruling, took care of that. Today, we find the Picnic Boat 37 MKIII is still decked out in shimmering teak with subtle curves and the company’s exceptional build quality. Hinckley says a 370-hp Yanmar jet gives her a top speed of 35 mph. More...
