Brabus Marine Shadow 500 by Axopar

German luxury automobile customizer Brabus has partnered with Axopar, building the Brabus Marine Shadow 500. The boat is based on the Axopar 28’s 31’3” (9.53 m) twin-stepped bottom and is powered by twin 250-hp Mercury four-stroke outboards. She planed in 3.1 seconds and ran a top speed of 62.7 mph at 5990 rpm. At the helm, her steering wheel has buttons on the left side that control the engine trim and thruster while those on the right manage the audio system. Six high-backed bucket seats in the cockpit are finished in bright-red custom stitched upholstery. The pair at the helm rotate to create booth-style seating around a removable table. More...

Ocean Alexander 45 Divergence Coupe

Ocean Alexander has expanded its 45 Divergence series with a new coupe version. The quad-outboard-powered boat has an enclosed pilothouse with a horseshoe-shaped lounge to port and the helm to starboard. There’s room to catch some rays in the aft cockpit, especially when the fold-out bulwarks are opened. Below, she has a full-beam master stateroom aft with VIP quarters in the bow. In between, there’s an inviting salon and galley and a private head has a separate shower. More...

Fleming Yachts 65:

A Remarkably-Equipped Expedition Yacht

fleming-65-042720.png

The Fleming Yachts 65’s helm is equipped with a proprietary screen that monitors and controls all on board systems.

The Fleming 65 is a long-range cruiser designed to be at sea for weeks at a time. This means having redundant systems, and monitoring electronics that display the pulse of each system on one screen, making it easy for an owner/operator to stay on top of a complex vessel. For example, the helm has the primary steering, but if that malfunctions, there’s a backup system with its own hydraulic pump. In the unlikely event that both go down, the Autopilot — with its own pump — is the third steering system. On the back of one of the engines, there’s a clutched power take off and both engines have second alternators, to produce nearly twice the electrical charge. The primary units charge the engine-start batteries, while the secondary units power the house batteries.

Fleming’s proprietary ship’s monitoring system was created by one of the most sophisticated third parties in the business, and its primary customers are commercial shipping. Because the unit monitors the vital signs of all major systems, there are “early warning” indicators of something going wrong, so the operator can mitigate the anomaly before it becomes a serious problem. Fountain 43 NX

Fountain’s 43 NX is the largest of Fountain’s new luxury center consoles. The boat can be used for fishing, but with the multiple tones and textures and varying thicknesses of padding in the lounges, it’s clear that this interior is designed for luxuriating. Cruising amenities include chaise lounges on the front of the console, a dive door aft to starboard and backrests for the bow seats. At the helm, there are triple 16” (40.64 cm) multifunction displays plus three individual high-backed seats. Belowdecks, the cabin has 6’7” (2.0 m) of headroom, a small galley, a private head and a queen berth. On the water, the 17,288-lb. (7,841.7 kg) twin-stepped boat powered by quad Mercury 400-hp outboards hit a top speed of 73.4 mph at 6650 rpm. More...

BENETEAU Antares 27

BoattestLEASING is now looking for late-model, premium boats from 26’ to 35’ (7.92 m to 10.66 m) to lease to like-minded boaters in the eastern U.S. Boat Leasing is now trending strongly, given the times we live in. Boats are a safe and healthy way for a family to have fun outside and at the same time maintain social distancing. By leasing unused days in a boat, owners are utilizing a valuable asset for a financial return on the investment. BoatTEST’s leasing program helps boat owners pay down their boat loan, as well as to cover a portion of annual operating costs. To find out more, contact General Manager Greg Sweeney at 727-200-3474 or [email protected].
