BRP - Together We Ride
BRP Marine Group
Evinrude, Alumacraft, Manitou and Australian company Telwater make up the BRP Marine Group while Sea-Doo is a stand-alone entity. Evinrude manufactures outboard motors from 3.5 to 300 hp and the company’s E-TEC G2 series have some of the most advantageous power-to-weight ratios in the industry. Most recently, the company introduced a series of 3-cylinder E-TEC G2s ranging from 115 to 150 hp in stock and HO models. They are direct-injected two-strokes with integrated hydraulic steering and feature a self-winterization mode.
A Focus on Aluminum
Since BRP Marine Group was formed, the company has been targeting manufacturers of aluminum boats for acquisition. Included in the group are Manitou, which builds nine different model lines of high-performance luxury pontoon boats. The company is known for its patented V-Toon triple-pontoon design that pairs well with Evinrude outboards.
Alumacraft builds aluminum bass, bay, multi-species and utility boats, all of which are powered by Evinrude outboards. The company started in Minnesota in 1946 and by its 50th anniversary, Alumacraft had produced more than 500,000 aluminum boats. Its 2XB hull is designed with a gullwing shape to produce quicker planning times, improved handling and better fuel economy.
Last August, BRP completed its purchase of Telwater, the largest builder of aluminum boats in Australia. The company owns the Quintrex, Stacer and Savage brands, plus Yellowfin Plate Boats.
Sea-Doo
Personal watercraft manufacturer Sea-Doo offers a full line of machines ranging from the budget-minded Spark series to the luxury three-up GTX Limited. The company recently introduced its LinQ system that lets riders customize the gear they want to bring and secure it on the stern.
