For our test, the Formula 240 Bowrider was powered by a 430-hp MerCruiser 8.2 Mag Bravo III sterndrive and she hit a top speed of 53.6 mph. With a 350-hp MerCruiser 6.2 L Bravo Three, Formula said she hit 54.5 mph. The 6.2-liter engine is 280 lbs. (118 kg) lighter and, more importantly, it costs about $15,420 less than the big-block.
