Cold Weather Boating

If the air and water temperature add up to less than 100 degrees Fahrenheit, consider it cold weather boating.

Proactive preparation including a call for help plan and life jacket wear are even more important than when boating in warm weather. Risks to the boat may include mechanical failure, icing and water soaking.
