Cruisers Yachts 60 Cantius:

Designed for 2-Couple Cruising

The 60 Cantius’ cabin-deck accommodations plan.

Most experienced cruising boaters recommend two-couple cruising rather than cramming three couples on a boat, and Cruisers Yachts designed the 60 Cantius for just that. Her accommodations plan maximizes space, comfort and privacy for two couples to cruise in comfort and elegance. The master and VIP stateroom are separated by four bulkheads to provide maximum sound and distance privacy. Each has an en suite head with a separate shower stall. Families might want to opt for the 3-cabin version. More...

The Steelpointe Yacht & Charter Show is being held Sept. 24 to 27 in Bridgeport, CT at the new Bridgeport Harbor Marina.

There will be a festive atmosphere at the Steelpointe Yacht & Charter Show next week with complimentary cocktails, wine and beer, plus six bands to keep things jumping. A dozen exotic cars, helicopters, water toys and even a seaplane or two for charter, will also be available for inspection. At least four sponsored parties – with all show-goers welcome – will be held on the mezzanine of the marina building, an ideal place to watch the fireworks Saturday night – after the live auction for local charities, which offers some spectacular items.

Because you are a BoatTEST Member, you are eligible for an invitation. Please email [email protected], and tell her you’re a BoatTEST Member, your name and those of all members of your party, their email addresses, and which day you plan to attend. Captain's Report

Draco Boats D27:

Scandinavian Designed Dayboat

draco-d27-091420.png

Draco Boats D27

The Draco D27 might be a new model from the Scandinavian builder, but the boat has bottom and interior designs from proven predecessors. The bottom was drafted by the team at Norwegian Windy Boats to work with a single outboard up to 400 hp, while her interior and exterior lines came from the naval architects at Dubois, a British firm. Twin bucket seats at the consoles swivel so the captain and a companion can join the conversation and the aft foldout lounge can be laid flat to create a large sunpad. For overnight excursions, a lightweight tent-like canopy with carbon-fiber stanchions fits over the bow seats to create a small cabin. Available options include a sink, refrigerator, head and even a shower. More...

The Back Cove 32’s salon is open and inviting.

The Back Cove 32 is a Downeast-inspired express that’s laid out and equipped to appeal to a seasoned boating couple. With a single engine, the Back Cove 32 promises to be an efficient coastal cruiser and dayboat for entertaining friends. Her straightforward systems, solid construction and single-level deck design shows that the builder kept in mind ease of ownership and maintenance. She has a forward cabin with a separate shower compartment. If guests need a place to spend a night, the salon lounge can be converted. Equipped with a bow thruster, the boat is easy to dock. Ocean Alexander 45 Divergence:

Open Concept Expands Utility

oceanalex-45-091420.png

Whether it’s the Coupe or open model, the 45 Divergence has a large aft cockpit.

On the Ocean Alexander 45 Divergence, the aft cockpit is the primary entertainment area. It features flexible seating, a summer kitchen and a pop-up 50” (127 cm) flatscreen TV. To port and starboard, the bulwarks fold out to expand the area. As if that doesn’t create enough open space, the aft bench tucks into the transom and the table leaves fold in. Grab the fishing rods, break out the SCUBA gear or just turn up the music for a dockside dance party. More...

The Unsinkable Boston Whaler

Celebrates 62 Years

boston-whaler-anniversary.png

Dick Fisher, seated in the stern above, caught the imagination of boating consumers who were transitioning from wood to fiberglass in 1958. For Fisher, making a fiberglass boat wasn’t enough, he went a step further and make it unsinkable, too. The USCG liked the idea and 20 years later they made it mandatory for all boats with an outboard engine that were 20’ or smaller. Find out how it happened here...
