Dagon
Length: 68.3m
Distance traveled: 22,129nm
The intrepid DSSV Pressure Drop was renamed Dagon in January of this year (2024), giving the seasoned explorer vessel somewhat of a fresh start as it headed back out for another year of adventure and discovery. The flagship of Tacoma Boat Building, Dagon is known for its record-breaking journey in 2018 to visit the deepest point in each of the world's five oceans as well as its Ring of Fire expedition in 2022, the latter of which earned it a Voyager's Award nomination at the 2022 World Superyacht Awards.
Dagon racked up more than 22,000 nautical miles exploring a cluster of atolls in the South Pacific Ocean. Having departed from Hawaii in December 2023, the hardened explorer vessel cruised continuously in order to reach French Polynesia by January, an easy feat for her 9,000-nautical-mile range. From there, Dagon continued on to several different island nations and territories, including Fiji, Wallis and Futuna and Samoa, before cutting up for a research leg in the depths of the South Pacific. The yacht then travelled south and is currently cruising in the vicinity of Tonga.
