Described as an ‘industry first’, the new single transducer for the Daniamant FLS 3D offers 30 degrees of 3D horizontal sonar imaging in real time.

Launching at this year’s Metstrade and entered for a DAME Innovation Award is the new Daniamant forward looking sonar, designed for leisure vessels of between 29 and 60 feet (8.8 – 18.2m). Key to the new sonar is a ‘world first’ Average Forward Depth (AFD) feature, which provides the compact system with a single transducer and a wide 30-degree horizontal scan. When combined with the 90-degree forward scan, this gives owners a real time 3D visualisation of what lies underwater ahead of the vessel.

The new technology is claimed to have 20X depth-to-range of up to 200 meters forward and 100 meters in depth. Daniamant says the FLS3D seamlessly integrates with Raymarine Axiom displays, via Raynet, and presents effortless touchscreen control through the EchoPilot app. It offers interactive split-screen sonar and chart views, 360-degree rotation, as well as zoom and side-view options. The system also connects via HDMI or VGA to third-party displays, adapting to all vessels and navigation setups.

Daniamants CEO Kevin Rough said, “We are excited to showcase the FLS 3D - 30 Degrees as our headline innovation at Metstrade 2025. Its entry into this year’s DAME Awards reflects our confidence that our innovative sonar technology not only advances the industry, but provides real-world value due to enhancing safety, improving environmental responsibility, and delivering professional-grade sonar technology for every boater. From small vessels and personal boats to global and commercial fleets, the FLS 3D - 30 Degrees offers industry-leading coverage for maximum visibility and safety whilst navigating at sea. We look forward to welcoming show visitors, industry colleagues, media, and exhibitors alike to the Daniamant stand to see the FLS 3D - 30 Degrees and our other industry leading products at the show.”

The recommended retail price of the FLS 3D - 30 Degrees is €5,000, with the UK-based company saying the new system delivers the capabilities of commercial-grade sonar.
