The Dos and Don’ts of Boating Safety:

1.    Do wear a life jacket. They float, you don’t.

2.    Do know the water and environment you will be boating in.

3.    Do keep a good lookout while under way.

4.    Do shut your engines off when people are in the water near your boat.

5.    Do observe the nautical rules of the road.

6.    Do check the weather forecast before getting under way.

7.    Do keep a balanced load and a trim boat.

8.    Don’t overload your boat.

9.    Don’t stand in a small boat.

10.    Don’t ride on the gunwale, bow, seat backs, or any place not designed for passengers.
