Eastern Boats 248 Islander

Choose Your Outboard

Eastern Boats is a low-volume semi-custom builder based in New Hampshire and one of the benefits of that is freedom of choice for the consumer. The company recommends a 150-hp outboard for the 248 Islander, but the buyer can choose from engines from Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, Mercury or even Tohatsu. Two constants remain regardless of the choice, her classic Downeast looks and her affordability. More...

Sirena Yachts 64

Flying Bridge Yacht w/Expedition Feel

Naval architect Germán Frers and his team designed the Sirena 64 to have a low center of gravity. One of the things the manufacturer did to help create that attribute is use weight-saving Kevlar throughout the flying bridge and superstructure. A Seakeeper gyroscopic stabilizer helps ensure that passengers stay comfortable. When an owner wants to entertain friends closer to home, the flying bridge, bow, aft deck and salon offer inviting gathering areas. More...

Fairline Targa 45 GT

Engine Access Belies Sleek Looks

On initial inspection, it would not be difficult to look at the Fairline Targa 45 GT’s sleek appearance and assume that it would not be fun to be the technician who needs to maintain the engines. Low-profile express yachts are not known for their spacious engine and equipment rooms. Fairline provides a hatch in the port side of the sun pad that offers minimal access to the port side of the port engine. Open the tender garage, however, and the deck lifts on an electrically actuated strut to expose the whole compartment, providing nearly unlimited access. More...

Cruisers Yachts 42 GLS

Most Popular of All Cruisers Yachts

When we took a poll of our readers recently that asked them which Cruisers Yachts model was their favorite, the relatively new 42 GLS rang the bell. The builder calls the 42 GLS a day boat, which might lead some to think that her cabin would have a minimalist feel. Guess again. She can sleep two in the bow when the U-shaped dinette is converted to a berth. The aft cabin has a berth positioned across the boat’s beam and the full wet head includes a shower, sink and opening port. There’s even a microwave/convection oven and a TV is an available option. The grill in the cockpit takes care of the rest of the cooking. More...

Riviera 5400 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition

Premium Treatment Inside and Out

Part of the upgrade to the Sport Yacht Platinum Edition on the Riviera 5400 is what the company calls a “waterfall” countertop running down sides of the cabinets. The light color complements the high-gloss finish on the darker oak cabinets. The use of contrasting colors like silver, black and white on the motoryacht’s exterior also helps her strike a stunning pose on the water. More...
