Galeon 640 Fly

Voluminous Flying Bridge Yacht

Galeon Yachts has quickly developed a reputation for designing as much space as possible into its offerings. This includes the 640 Fly and we found an example of this in the 68’3” (20.80 m) flying bridge yacht’s engine room. It has 6’ (1.83 m) of headroom and 2’ (.61 m) of space between the twin 1,000-hp Volvo Penta D1300 diesel inboards. All the electrical panels and charging systems are on the forward bulkhead and to make servicing them easier, the sea strainers are on raised pedestals. More...

Sailfish 242 CC

Power Choices Add Utility

Sailfish Boats offers the 242 CC with single or twin outboards totaling 300 hp. A quick peek at the BoatTEST Outboard Engine matrix shows that twin Mercury 150-hp FourStroke tips the scales at 455 lbs. (206 kg) while a single 300 Verado tips the scales at 600 lbs. (272 kg). Twin Yamaha 150-hp outboards check in at 478 lbs. (217 kg) and Yamaha lists the F300 at 551 lbs. (250 kg), so it’s a question of an owner favoring power-to-weight ratio or redundancy. More...

We’ve previously pointed out her low price, but that doesn’t mean she’s not well equipped. For those who ride in saltwater, she has a closed cooling system. For improved rider control, she has off-throttle steering, an interactive multifunction digital display at the helm and comfort grips that ease hand fatigue. More...
