Garmin’s new Force Pro electric trolling motor targets serious anglers with enhanced capabilities.

Latest model in growing trolling motor line incorporates new features including innovative reverse thrust control and enhanced anchor lock performance

Garmin unveiled the latest model in its electric trolling motor product line early Wednesday, touting new features and capabilities for serious anglers.

The new Garmin Force Pro brushless trolling motor is said to be engineered with Garmin’s most precise GPS positioning technology for enhanced digital anchoring capabilities. Utilising multi-band GPS signal reception and an integrated heading sensor, the new motor is said to deliver superior performance when following a route or heading hold, allowing anglers to position their boat more precisely near attractive fishing locations.

In calm water conditions, a new reverse thrust feature reduces steering activity and noise levels to avoid alerting fish to the boat’s presence, giving the Force Pro an enhanced stealth capability, according to the firm.

The new motor, with a power output of 100 pounds of thrust, further includes a built-in GT56UHD scanning transducer, delivering ultra-high definition ClearVu and SideVu sonar along with CHIRP traditional sonar. Wireless integration with Garmin chart plotters allows anglers to create routes, patterns and tracks for the trolling motor to follow while they fish.

Garmin Force has quickly become a trusted name in trolling motors for professional and recreational anglers all over the world,” said Garmin VP of consumer sales and marketing, Susan Lyman. “By adding premium features like our most advanced positioning technology with fishing-friendly enhancements like reverse thrust, we’re excited to offer anglers a trolling motor that’s second to none and continue to grow our presence in this market.”

Garmin says the Force Pro is available for immediate shipping in a choice of 50-inch or 57-inch shaft lengths.
