CL Yachts CLB72:

An Engine Room to Love

CL Yachts tells us that virtually every buyer of a CLB72 has been an owner/operator. That means the engine room can’t be a game of “Where’s Waldo?” There must be an obvious place for everything – and easily reachable by a human, not an Orangutan. That includes access to all sea strainers and through-hulls. It means the fuel manifold must be simple to understand and handy. Likewise for the electrical system, which in this case is CZone. Because CL Yachts is a division of Cheoy Lee, a major commercial workboat builder, its engine rooms are second to none in motoryachts. More...

Boston Whaler 190 Montauk:

Refinements Enhance Utility

When Boston Whaler redesigned the 190 Montauk, the team focused on improving the bow area. For example, the raised nonskid deck area is squared rather than tapered. This creates more than 23 sq. ft (2.1 sq. m) of space for hanging out or fishing. Gunwale height is 21” (53.3 cm) and an owner can opt for 13” tall (33 cm) stainless-steel rails for added safety, as seen in the image above. An optional sunpad is also available. More...

Galeon 325 GTO:

Galeon's Only Outboard Model

The Galeon 325 GTO is the smallest boat of this brand that Marine Max imports, but her designers were thinking big when they conceived her. She would be a bowrider with a watersports platform for people moving up, and an overnight cruiser sleeping four with large entertaining areas for people moving down. The 32’9” (9.99 m) day boat/weekender has a central bench seat aft with convertible backrests so passengers can face forward or aft. Push a button to lower the port bulwark, expanding the cockpit by 3’4” (1.02 m). More...

Outboard Engine Buyers' Guide

Tohatsu 200:

What is in the Tohatsu Name?

Tohatsu is a brand that you rarely hear much about. That’s largely because they have a Lilliputian advertising budget. And, that’s part of their strategy, keep costs low and rely on a low price to sell the engines. Interestingly, the brand receives white-labeled engines from other builders and then puts them on the market rebranded. On our “Outboard Engine Buyer’s Guide,” you can usually tell which Tohatsu engines are from one of the major brands. How many can you find?
