Chaparral 280 OSX:
Bowrider w/Hardtop & Cabin
The Chaparral 280 OSX is one of the few asymmetrical designs in the sportboat field, with the passage to the bow on the port side rather than down the center. Among other inventive features is the center seat at the bow, which hides a flip-out pad that converts the area to a sun pad — there’s no storage issue with the extra pad, as there is in most bowriders. She also has a hideaway electric head in the console cabin — it slides out on a track when needed. The area has seating for two and a sink. Also original is the rotating helm and companion seat, which can be turned to face the cockpit when the sun slides below the yardarm. We tested her with both Yamaha F200s and Yamaha F250s. As you’d expect, the 250s were considerably faster, topping out at an impressive 59.5 mph – but who needs that much speed? See the full test here...

Tiburon ZX 25:
Evinrude G2 300 in 6” Depths
The Tiburon ZX 25, powered with a 300-hp Evinrude E-TEC G2, is a dedicated flats-fishing boat capable of running — not just floating — in 6" (15 cm) of water and maybe less once she’s on plane. The hydraulic jackplate included in the rigging allows the prop and skeg to be raised above the bottom of the boat, and the design of the tunnel-hull feeds enough cooling water to the Evinrude’s low water pickup for the engine to operate without overheating. Turning a 20” (50.8 cm) pitch R4 prop, time to plane was 5.7 seconds, slower than some, but this is a characteristic of tunnel designs aimed at operation in extreme shallows. Top speed was 48.6 mph, while best cruise with the high-efficiency direct-injection V6 was at 3500 and 29.3 mph, at which she got 3.2 mpg. Note the clean single-tube rigging. More...

Greenline 39 Solar:
Silent Eco-Friendly Power
for All Ship’s Systems
The Greenline 39 Solar is available with an optional electric drive system that allows her to run for several hours at displacement speeds on quiet battery power as a supplement to the standard 370-hp Yanmar 8LV shaft-drive diesel. The electric motor functions as a generator when the boat is using diesel propulsion, charging a bank of lithium polymer batteries. The routine is to run on battery power, switch to diesel when the battery gets low, then back and forth to maximize economy and quiet running. She comes standard with four 300-watt solar panels on the top, providing more than enough power to run lights, air-conditioning and other equipment all day long without tapping into shore power or starting the generator. An inverter controls the charge fed to the batteries. A Simarine system lets the user check on battery charge and tank levels in a helm display. The single engine design proved no problem in docking thanks to bow and stern thrusters. More...

REGENCY® 210 DL3:
Well-Equipped for the Family
The 210 DL3 is an upscale tri-toon, but she’s downsized a bit compared to others in the Regency line to make her a better fit for more garages and boat houses, as well as for the family budget. She still comes fully-loaded with premium-class multi-density foam upholstery, Stow More seatbacks that add lots of storage space to the already large capacity, a Quicklift Bimini top and powder-coated pontoons, railings and Bimini frame. At the console is a Lowrance HOOK2 7 combo depthfinder/chartplotter, tilt hydraulic steering, a reclining, swiveling captain’s chair and a Kicker stereo with Bluetooth. She comes standard with a Mercury FourStroke 150 at $42,895. More...
