Kadimos - Superyachts Travel Record Distance in First Half of 2024
By Gabrielle Lazaridis
Kadimos
Length: 36.8m
Distance traveled: 41,306nm
At 36.8 meters (120.7'), Kadimos is noticeably smaller than most of the other megayachts and superyachts – but she's no less mighty. This flybridge motor yacht has covered the most distance of any yacht greater than 24 meters (78') so far in 2024 – a testament to the exceptional build quality from French yard Couach Yachts. Delivered in 2007, the yacht was constructed in Kevlar and composite with an exterior from Exequiel Cano Lanza and interior design from Alberto Pinto. She has a top speed of around 30 knots and recently took part in the Global Clean Up initiative led by Burgess, which saw a record amount of litter removed from beaches across the world.
After ringing in the New Year from Shanghai, Kadimos took an extended voyage around the southern tip of Africa (ostensibly to avoid the Red Sea) to reach the Mediterranean. Here, she spent several months cruising along Italy's idyllic southern landscape before venturing all the way up the Adriatic for brief visits to Trieste in Italy and Rijeka, Croatia. Not wanting to double back all the way around Africa, BOATPro shows Kadimos opted to brave passage through the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, with a bit of time spent enjoying the UAE's superyacht-friendly coastal cities. She was last recorded a little further southeast in Sri Lanka. (Note the places where she turned off her AIS.)
