Linssen Grand Sturdy 45.0 AC:

Premium, Steel-Hulled Motoryacht

linssen-45-080320.png

Linssen Grand Sturdy 45.0 AC

The steel-hulled Linssen Grand Sturdy 45.0 AC is a motoryacht designed for displacement-speed cruising Europe’s rivers, canals and rugged coastline from the Med to Norway’s fjords. As such, she is economical to operate. She can sleep six. The Dutch manufacturer calls her a “penthouse on the water.” The use of large windows in the salon and her exquisite joinery work create an elegant, nautical feel that veteran boaters will appreciate. For privacy, the master and VIP staterooms are accessed from stairs at opposite ends of the salon, making this boat ideal for two cruising couples or a family. Headroom exceeds 6’4” (1.97 m) throughout. This is a premium vessel, designed for specific work and the type of owner who wants to do some “smell-the-roses” cruising. We think she is ideal for East Coast or Great Loop cruising in style. More...

Fleming Yachts 55:

Much More Than a Trawler

fleming-55-080320.png

Fleming Yachts 55

The Fleming 55 is designed for a cruising couple, or two couples, or a family to make long offshore and coastal passages comfortably and safely. Company founder Tony Fleming makes sure his motoryachts are built to take rugged conditions and stay at sea for extended times. At 7.4 knots, the Fleming 55 has a range of 2,788 nautical miles, and because she is powered by twin 500-hp diesel inboards, she can get up on plane and run 18 knots to outpace a storm. She’s more versatile than a traditional trawler in that regard, but she has the space and accommodations one expects from a faux planked yacht that exhibits traditional lines and a Portuguese bridge. Grady-White Canyon 336:

New and Improved

gradywhite-canyon336-080320.png

Grady-White Canyon 336

When it was decided to redesign the Canyon 336, Grady-White had a couple of focus points. First was the console, which is larger to accommodate bigger electronics — a pair of 17” (43.18 cm) displays can fit easily in this space. Overhead, the T-top now integrates into the full wraparound windshield and an electrically actuated vent at the top allows fresh air to pass through. The T-top was also redesigned to accommodate an optional SureShade power-retractable awning that covers the entire cockpit. The console redesign also added nearly 2’ (.61 m) of headroom in the cabin. Finally, the cockpit side door was made standard. More...

Formula 430 All Sport Crossover:

The Face that Launched a Thousand Ships

formula-430asc-080320.png

The 430 ASC is ready for serious fishing.

Well, maybe not quite a thousand ships, yet, but certainly many. Several years ago, Formula introduced the Formula 430 All Sport Crossover, and lightbulbs went on all over the industry. Boat designers couldn’t get to their drafting boards fast enough. A year or so later, it became obvious that the concept of a luxury crossover express had gotten the seal of approval from competitors at all price points. One of the major design innovations of this boat is her remarkably functional stern that is made for watersports, fishing or entertaining. Retractable stainless-steel rails on each side of the platform lock into place to help keep the area secure. If the fish aren’t biting, there are receivers in the swim platform deck for a pair of racks to secure two stand-up paddle boards. There are racks for scuba tanks. All sports appear to be covered. But, all of this is just the beginning. More...

Schaefer Yachts 400:

Choose Sterndrives or Outboards

schaefer-400-080320.png

The 2021 Schaefer 400 Sport.

We tested the Schaefer Yachts 400 as a sterndrive model in 2019 and were impressed by her handling and the versatility that comes with the 300-hp Volvo Penta DuoProp drives and Lenco electric trim tabs. For the 2021 model year, the Brazilian manufacturer has upgraded the 400 as the 400 Sport. She will still be offered with sterndrives, but now buyers can choose triple 300-hp Mercury Verados as shown here. Schaefer is offering the 400 Sport at a special $399,000 price and look for a BoatTEST.com evaluation in the future. More...
