Massachusetts Family Rescued After Harrowing 2-Day Ordeal Off Cape Cod

A Massachusetts family is safe after surviving a terrifying emergency at sea. Their 30-ft boat suddenly caught fire in the middle of the night, forcing them to abandon ship and jump into the dark ocean. They swam to a nearby island off Cape Cod, where they spent two days stranded — cold, exhausted, and waiting for rescue.

Thanks to quick action from the U.S. Coast Guard and local responders, the family was located and brought to safety. What began as a night on the water turned into a dramatic reminder of how fast conditions can turn — and how courage and preparedness can make all the difference.
