MasterCraft Acquires Manufacturing Facility For Aviara

The Aviara 36 is available with outboards or sterndrives.

MasterCraft Boat Company has entered into an agreement to purchase a boat-manufacturing plant in Merritt Island, Fla., to establish a dedicated manufacturing location for its recently introduced Aviara brand of day boats.

Aviara-Focused

Aviara is a line of luxury boats ranging from 32’ (9.75 m) to 40’ (12.19 m) long. MasterCraft started building the boats in July 2019 at its Vonore, Tenn., facility. The new Merritt Island location has more than 140,000 sq. ft. (13,006.43 sq. m) of dedicated manufacturing space and it’s located on 38 acres. It has water access to facilitate testing.

The Aviara AV32 has Euro-inspired lines and an open concept.

“The Aviara brand is a critical component of the company’s long-term strategy to deliver our customers and their families the best experience on the water,” Fred Brightbill, MasterCraft Boat Holdings’ chief executive officer and chairman, said in a statement. “The purchase of a well-established boat manufacturing plant will allow us to increase overall capacity and productivity for our Aviara brand, while simultaneously providing increased capacity and productivity for our MasterCraft brand.”

The new Aviara manufacturing facility is expected to begin production in early 2021, which is MasterCraft’s fiscal third quarter. The plant will support production of the AV32, AV36 and AV40.
