Monte Carlo Yachts 70 Skylounge:

New/Improved Motoryacht

Screen Shot 2020-07-20 at 1.43.35 PM.png

The absence of a lower helm means more galley and dining space in the 70 Skylounge.

When Monte Carlo Yachts decided to have a single helm on the upper level of the 70 Skylounge, it gave the designers more flexibility when it came to the motoryacht’s salon. The galley is forward to port with a large horseshoe-shaped counter for food prep and serving and to starboard is a dining table. It’s a single step up to this area so it creates a natural separation from the salon while still creating an open ambience for entertaining. The dining area is much more comfortable than it would be with the helm below. Note the side windows have lower sills creating greater vistas. We like skylounge motoryachts because they offer a big jump in all-season living area without a big jump in price. More...

Yamaha 275SD:

Jet Boat with Gravitas

yamaha-275sd-072020.jpg

Yamaha 275SD

With the 275SD, Yamaha wanted to raise the bar for jetboats. First, she is one of the largest in class at 27’ (8.23 m) long and she’s powered by twin supercharged marine engines that make a combined 500 hp and are connected to twin jets. For improved slow-speed handling, our test boat was equipped with Yamaha DRiVE technology and all the onboard systems were controlled by a 12.3” (31.24 cm) Connext touchscreen. Her swim-up stern seating is some of the most innovative we’ve seen with two seats that are actually below the water’s surface. And, her interior is the most luxurious that Yamaha has ever produced. Bahamas Bans U.S. Tourists

and Canada Closes Border

bahamas-072020.png

Privately owned vessels and charter yachts flying a U.S. flag will still be welcomed in the Bahamas.

Less than three weeks after reopening its borders to international visitors, the Bahamas announced on Sunday that it is closing all of its airports and seaports to tourists from the United States effective today. Fortunately, for boaters, the ban is not all-encompassing. Private charters and pleasure craft are still allowed, according to the Miami Herald. Additionally, CNN reported on July 16 that Canada is expected to extend its border closure to Americans for another 30 days. Mexico anyone? It still allows gringos in. More...

Grady-White Marlin 300:

Classic Bluewater Walkaround

gw-marlin300-072020.jpg

Grady-White Marlin 300

The Grady-White Marlin 300 combines the manufacturers exclusive SeaV2® hull, a galley including stovetop, sink, fridge and microwave, along with the ability to sleep 6 in a boat that is one of the most comfortable in her size range for extended offshore fishing trips. Because she’s a more traditional walkaround, when the sea gets rougher, her closed foredeck and protected bridge and cockpit provide better respite from wind and spray compared to a similarly sized center console. Iguana Amphibian:

By Land or Sea

iguana-x100-072020.jpg

The Iguana Amphibian

The Iguana Amphibian is a rigid-hull inflatable with nylon tracks that fold into the hullside. The concept is for the operator to be able to shut down the outboard engine, trim it out of the water and deploy the tracks. Then the craft can head ashore while making as little environmental impact as possible. The original center-console design accommodates eight people and comes in a few trim levels. More...

ACR ResQLink:

Affordable Personal Beacon

acr-resqlink-072020.png

The ResQLink has built-in buoyancy so it will float if it becomes detached from its wearer.

The first thing that many people think when they hear rescue equipment is “expensive.” For $359.95, the ACR ResQLink Personal Locator Beacon could be the best insurance a boater could buy. It doesn’t require a subscription and, when activated, it provides live status and GPS coordinates. Two different styles of strobe also flash to further aid in a rescue. More...
