Meet Captain Charlotte Niven
Capt. Charlotte has logged 100,000 miles of sea time over 15 years and holds a Qualified RYA Yachtmaster Ocean license. In addition, she has a Qualified RYA Yachtmaster Ocean and RYA Yachtmaster Cruising and Powerboat Instructor license, and with a wealth of experience teaching at every level.
Capt. Charlotte has extensive experience delivering Sunseeker yachts from her hometown of Poole, England, as well as Princess yachts from 39’ to 115’. She has carried out sea trials for motoryacht customers all over the UK and the Med.
For the last four years she has been the Captain of an 82’ Sunseeker based in Palma de Majorca, which is active in the charter trade during the season. Off season she oversees the yacht’s maintenance.
Here is what Capt. Charlotte has to say, "Since completing my Yachtmaster qualification I have been lucky enough to spend seven years working for Sunseeker and Princess this has involved delivering boats, carrying out sea trials and training clients all over the UK and the Mediterranean. I have driven the full range of Princess Motor Yachts and Sunseeker Yachts ranging from 39ft to 115ft. This has included many deliveries all over Europe, Loading and unloading Princess and Sunseekers on to ships and taking Motor Yachts to the boat shows in both Southampton and Excel.
From 2020- Present, I am currently captain on a busy charter princess 25m based in the Balearic islands over the summer season and look after the boat and oversee all maintenance during the winter months.
From 2018-2021 June through September, I Captain a Princess S60 Yacht in Saint Tropez. I was in sole charge of the vessel and have taken the client and guests out daily on charters all along the coast of the South of France, The Balearics, Sardinia, Corsica, Croatia and Montenegro.
Experienced in EU Temporary VAT Yacht Exports to non EU countries. Africa, Gibraltar and Montenegro."

BoatTEST has certified Capt. Charlotte in its boat-testing protocol, as well as it’s inspection procedures. She lives in both Poole and Palma and as available to test boats in European waters, including the Med. BoatTEST’s European videographer is based in Palma.
