Meet Eric Brandon: New Fishboat Inspector

For 17 years, fishermen in Southeast Florida have been waking up on Saturday mornings to listen to Eric Brandon’s fishing radio program called “The Weekly Fisherman Show” on FoxSports 940 in Miami. Brandon has been an active fisherman since he was 8 and his favorite fishing boat is a center console.

Brandon has owned boats all his life and has gained a keen appreciation of what boat owners and boat buyers need to know before selecting a boat. Rarely a week goes by without Brandon going out to fish or to take prospective center console buyers out to show them what saltwater angers need to have on their boats.

Brandon served in the U.S. military, where he debuted as an Army radio broadcaster and found his calling. Upon discharge, he quickly became a top professional national on-air broadcaster. Once back in civilian life, he renewed his life-long passion for saltwater game fishing.

It wasn’t long before Brandon could combine his radio presence with his favorite sport, and that was when the “Weekly Fisherman Show” premiered on FoxSports 940 17 years ago. Brandon is the Executive Producer and co-host of this lively Saturday morning broadcast, which is a “must-hear” for anyone going fishing offshore in southeast Florida.

Center consoles are the largest selling type of outboard-powered fiberglass boat sold each year.  By specializing in this type of boat, he has become BoatTEST’s resident expert on center consoles.
