Neptunus 650 Express:

Sleek Yacht w/Extra Headroom

neptunus-650express-020121.jpg

Neptunus 650 Express

When we stepped into the salon of the Neptunus 650 Express, we forgot that we were on a sporty low-profile motoryacht. She has 7’8” (2.38 m) of headroom. That’s more than we’ve seen on some much bigger boats and it adds to the salon’s grandeur. Neptunus designers enhanced the airy feel with massive side windows, an opening skylight, lightly colored wood and white leather upholstery. She is produced by a yard in Canada that has been building quality, luxury yachts for decades and each boat get lots of TLC from the dedicated shop-floor personnel. More...

Scratch the Itch at No Risk:

Capt. Steve will Help You

edgewater-capt-steve.png

Who wouldn’t want to own a 37' (11.27 m) triple-engine, air-conditioned center console with a gyro stabilizer, a boat fitted out for big game fishing in the Gulf Stream or cruising to the Florida Keys in luxury? Trouble is, owning such a boat is expensive. After a few outings, the significant other may decide that terra firma is a preferable venue for fun – and you’re left with an expensive depreciating asset. That's the risk.

Experienced boaters may know the size and type of boat they want – but which brand and model to buy? Most people buy a new boat without really knowing it. That’s the risk.

Waiting for your new boat delivery this summer? Why lose the spring season? Sovereign Boat Club has a short-term membership waiting for you. No risk.

On Sat. Feb. 13, in Riviera Beach, Fl, Sovereign Boat Club will give boaters on the east coast of Florida a rare opportunity to experience a 37’ center console, equipped to the gills, in total peace. Equally important, they will be able to get the unbiased input from a man who has tested more boats in the last 10 years than possibly any person alive – BoatTEST’s Capt. Steve.

The Sovereign Boat Club offers no-risk boating – and you can scratch the itch.

Donzi 41 GT:

Next Generation Performance Boat

donzi-41gt-020121.jpg

Donzi 41 GT

The 41 GT was designed by Donzi Marine to be an evolutionary offshore performance boat. She still has a twin-stepped V-bottom and a low-slung offshore profile, but she is essentially a performance boat forward and a luxury day boat aft. This design greatly improved the boat’s utility and makes her much more relevant today. Donzi eschewed sterndrives for outboards and got rid of the typical go-fast cockpit for a more versatile plan. Her aft-facing chaise lounges in the stern can even be used when the boat is running. And she can run. We hit 81 mph. More...

Aviara AV36

Aviara Boats offers the AV36 with sterndrive or outboard power. On the sterndrive side, she’s one of the few day boats available with power from Ilmor Marine, which builds engines for Aviara’s parent company, MasterCraft Boats, and has a rich history in IndyCar and Formula One racing. Owners can choose from twin 380-hp Ilmor 6.0Ls, 430-hp 6.2Ls or 483-hp 7.4Ls. All are paired with the company’s smooth-operating One Drive that has hydraulic shifting and was made to handle the high torque of diesel engines, which is possibly the system’s most important attribute. Ranger VX1888 WT

At some point during a boating season, folks are going to get caught in some unexpected wind-blown chop. If they’re in the Ranger VX1888 WT, six people can sit in the cockpit and be afforded some protection by the tall windshield. The driver and a companion travel in fixed bucket seats. There are sockets for two more in the deck and a pair of jump seats fold up out of the aft casting deck. There are also grab handles for all the passengers, as required by ABYC standards. More...
