The Neptunus 650 Flybridge carries a CE rating of A-Ocean that covers yachts designed for extended voyages through winds of more than Beaufort Force 8 (speeds over 40 knots) and wave heights of more than 13’ (3.96 m). She’s built with Kevlar on both sides of the hull and all the way across the running surface. This is some of the most extensive use of the material that we’ve seen. With a passenger rating of 12, a stepped bottom for improved performance and efficiency, the Regal 26 OBX is an outboard-powered do-anything deckboat. She has the grunt to tow watersports, the size to handle bay or lake chop and the freeboard to keep passengers dry. The swim platform extends aft on each side of the outboard to provide unobstructed space to launch watersports. Yamaha’s G1800R SVHO is a race-inspired 11’ (3.35 m) personal watercraft that runs 70 mph. It’s essentially the same machine that competitors race on the national circuit. Our test craft was loaded with technology including RiDE, Thrust Directional Enhancer and a Cruise/No Wake control. One of the features that helps keep a less-experienced rider in control is Auto Trim. When it’s on, the accessory improves launch and cornering control by adjusting the trim of the nozzle.
