Aquila 70 Luxury Power Cat

Finely Finished, Flexible Catamaran

With the 70 Luxury Power Cat, Aquila and its exclusive dealer MarineMax wanted to do more than simply build a larger boat. They also wanted to make a strong entrée into the luxury catamaran yacht market. In addition to offering the new model with three, four or five staterooms plus crew quarters, they virtually banished the sight of fiberglass from the interior, covering it with the materials one would expect to find on a high-quality monohull motoryacht. The overhead is Ultraleather and on the bulkheads is manufactured Alpi wood, which is more durable. Brand names in the galley include Wolf, Fisher & Paykel and Gaggeneau. More...

Grady-White Freedom 235

Dual Console w/Premium Features

When a family is aboard the Grady-White Freedom 235, its members might forget that she’s only 25’7” (7.8 m) long with the engine. She has similar seating, fishing, and cruising features found on the company’s larger offerings. The oversized head to port is designed to make it easier to enter and use. A single 300-hp outboard capably powers the 4,050-lb. (1,837-kg) SeaV²® hull. More...

Regal 33 XO

Outboard-Powered Cruiser w/Improved Functionality

In 2017, Regal Marine was one of the first manufacturers to take a mid-size cruising yacht and equip it with twin outboards, creating the 33 XO. By taking the engines out of the boat under the cockpit, loads of space was made available for a generator, larger air condition units and a host of other boat-enhancing equipment – plus be a repository for water toys of all sorts. Because they can be trimmed higher, outboards also give the boat the ability to explore backwaters and out-of-the-way coves. Swim platforms extend aft past the engines on each side so bring on watersports. More...

 Loran is Coming Back

Loran was the predecessor to GPS for navigating. It wasn’t nearly as accurate and it was difficult to use, but mariners were happy to have it anyway, given the alternatives. Today, an updated version called e-Loran promises accuracy that is reportedly closer to that of GPS. It’s being developed as a backup to GPS, which can be susceptible to jamming and other problems. Because e-Loran is land-based, it’s less prone to interference. More...
