Honda Engines on Road, Track and Water

If you’ve ever heard an Indy car flying down the front straightaway at the Indianapolis 500, you’ll never forget the high-pitched scream that makes it seem as if it’s turning 10,000 RPM.

Honda’s 75, 90 and 100-hp engines are marinized 1.5 L blocks used for years in Honda’s Fit automobile. As such, millions of collective hours have been put on this engine, proving its durability. Honda’s racing engine is a six-cylinder 3.6 engine block, which is also used in many of its automobiles. While Honda’s 200/225/250 platform is not the same block, its 3.6 L outboard engines share many of the same parts. Together, Honda Marine’s engines share more in common with racing and automobile engines than any other outboard on the market. More...

Neptunus 650 Express

High-Quality Build, Custom Interior

Neptunus builds the 650 Express to meet the certification standards for CE Category A, the highest rating for offshore use. To enhance strength, the hull is laminated with Kevlar reinforcement across its entirety and the stringers for the engine mounts are made from Corecell A500 foam. Instead of leaving a void in the mold for windows, Neptunus builds the hull with aluminum frames extending from the center of the glass out to 3’ (.91 m) around the opening port, making the frame stronger than the hull. Because she’s a semi-custom build, a buyer can choose an interior customized to his/her needs. Her interior joiner work is first class. Keep an eye out for a test of the new model this spring. Back Cove 32

 Straightforward Yet Downeast Cool

When Back Cove was founded in 2003, one of the tenets of the company was that all the boats would have a single diesel inboard and a bow thruster. The Back Cove 32 is an efficient coastal cruiser and dayboat. Her straightforward systems, solid construction and single-level deck design all point to a boat that’s easy to own and maintain. The forward cabin has a separate shower, which is rare in class. More...

Nitro Z17

Affordable, Well-Equipped Bass Boat

Sometimes an angler just doesn’t need more than a 17’4” (5.28 m) boat like the Nitro Z17. But he/she still wants the quality found in the company’s larger offerings like the Nitro Vortex Technology (NVT) bottom design with the Rapid Planing System and a full quiver of fishing features like a Lowrance fishfinder and Minn Kota Edge trolling motor. She only needs a 115-hp Mercury ProXS outboard to top 50 mph, which helps keep the price at an attractive $27,595 including a trailer. More...
