Saltwater Bowrider

Grady-White Freedom 215

The Grady-White Freedom 215 hull has seating for up to eight, marking its clear departure from being strictly a fishing boat. The whole family can enjoy this boat with the transom jump-seats that have swing-open backs for easy access to the swim platforms on either side, and a pop-up ski-tow pylon is optional. To starboard, it has a stainless-steel boarding ladder, add the optional recessed freshwater shower to easily rinse-off when boarding. With a cockpit depth of 25” (63 cm), she has a handy freshwater engine flush system and hydraulic tabs with indicators. More...

Riviera Belize 54 Daybridge:

A Bespoke Yacht for Aficionados

riviera_54daybridge_012020.jpg

Riviera Belize 54 Daybridge

The Riviera Belize 54 Daybridge is one of the most luxurious boats built in class by any builder. She is a bespoke yacht intended for veterans who appreciate excellence in design and execution, and she must be seen to be fully appreciated. She is built in a separate facility from the rest of the Riviera line, a place specializing in multi-million-dollar motoryachts. No amenity has been forgotten, and perhaps most importantly, the designers know that the owner/operator would like to be surrounded by friends and family at the helm. The joystick control for available Volvo Penta IPS or Cummins Zeus QSC power systems can be positioned on the dash or on the captain’s chair at the buyer’s preference. Note the matched grain wood here, a mark of the fit-and-finish that's found throughout the yacht. More...

Boston Whaler 380 Realm:

Premium Design for

Day-Boating, Island Hopping

bostonwhaler_380realm_012020.jpg

Boston Whaler 380 Realm

The Realm series from Boston Whaler is the first to offer fishing features as an option — boats like the 380 Realm are clearly aimed at those more interested in day-boating and island-hopping than in serious angling. She has a massive ice chest on the back of the leaning post rather than the rigging station usually seen here on Whaler’s offshore fishing models. There are social zones in the aft cockpit, amidships and at the bow — each with abundant upholstered seating and optional tables. A “summer kitchen” with a cooktop, sink and refrigerated drawer is to port aft. Up front, the optional table transforms to a sun pad at the touch of a button, and a sunshade is available for this entire area. The cabin has a convertible berth, standup head and shower, TV and mini-galley, and can be air-conditioned with the optional generator or 12V system. More...

Sea-Doo RXT-X 300:

Speed, Performance & Controllability

sea-doo_rxt-x-300_012020.jpg

Sea-Doo RXT-X 300

The Sea-Doo RXT-X 300 has a super-charged and intercooled 1630CC 300-hp Rotax engine that’s 9 percent larger than its predecessor but produces 15 percent more power. With all that power pushing a PWC that weighs just 914 lbs. (415 kg) dry, performance is predictably brisk, with top speed well into the 60s. The S3 hull design has narrow deep-V inner surfaces to smooth the ride at speed and steps to help break suction for improved performance. She’s 139.2" (3.54 m) long, adding space for a third seat plus a boarding platform aft and making her more of a family affair than the company’s smaller two-rider machines. More...

Approved Fuel-System Hose Clamps:

Don’t Leave Home Without Them

hoseclamp.jpeg

Boaters should know what they’re looking for when they inspect their fuel system, right down to the hose clamps — a key component for preventing leaks that can lead to trouble.

Hose clamps make sure hoses stay put and prevent potentially deadly fuel leaks, but not everyone understands how they need to be used on an NMMA-certified boat. ABYC standards are very specific around the fuel system, as they should be. Take a look at the standards for gasoline and diesel systems here. More...
