Fleming Yachts 65:

Impeccably Built Long-Range Cruiser

fleming-65-051120.png

Fleming Yachts 65

The Fleming Yachts 65 is a long-range cruiser meant for passagemaking in comfort and luxury. With twin MAN I6 800 inboards, she has a range of up to 4,196 nautical miles and an endurance of more than 784 hours, at displacement speeds. What’s equally impressive is how quiet the motoryacht is. At full throttle, we recorded 68.2 decibels at the lower helm and at idle, the number dropped to 58.9 dbA. For comparison, regular conversation is conducted at 69 dbA. Additionally, Fleming uses the Aquadrive system to transfer thrust from the propeller directly to the hull, not the engine. The engines are installed on soft mounts, so they are virtually floating, which keeps vibration from being transmitted through the vessel. More...

Grady-White Freedom 275

At 26’11” (8.2 m) long with an 8’6” (2.59 m) beam, the 275 Freedom is the largest tow-able boat in Grady-White’s dual-console lineup. Without engines, she has a dry weight of 4,972 lbs. (2,255 kg). Clamp twin 200-hp outboards to the transom, set the boat on a trailer and add the usual gear and a vehicle rated to tow about 7,500 lbs (3,401.94 kg) should be able to haul this boat. For cruising or fishing, she has space in the cockpit for anglers and bow for the family. More...

Greenline 39 Solar:

Express Cruiser w/Alternative Power

greenline-39solar-051120.png

Greenline 39 Solar

The Greenline 39 Solar we tested had a power-management system that uses photovoltaic solar panels on her hardtop. In a real-world test of electrical-system usage, the vessel spent three days at anchor on a hot, sunny weekend. According to the company, the on-board appliances consumed 10.385 watts of power each day, but the solar panels recharged the batteries at a rate of 9 watts every 24 hours, so the battery system was still at 40 percent the next day. Turn off the 16,000 BTU air conditioner, and the solar panels could more than keep up with the power draw from all of the other appliances. More...

Milestone

Congrats Capt. Steve

capt-steve.png

Left, a young Steve Larivee no doubt dreaming about being on the water and today, he’s the most respected test captain in the recreational boating industry.

Capt. Steve has gone through a couple of unique milestones as of late. First, this past September, he celebrated 11 straight years with BoatTEST.com, test conducting tests all over the world. We don’t have an exact count of the number of tests he’s done, but two years ago we had counted well over a thousand. In fact, we thought it’d be fun to actually verify and submit the number to the Guinness Book of Records but they turned it down because it can’t be beaten. More...

BoattestLEASING:

Looking for Boats To Lease

everglades-295-cc.jpg

Everglades 295CC

BoattestLEASING is now looking for late-model, premium boats from 26’ to 35’ (7.92 m to 10.66 m) to lease to like-minded boaters in the eastern U.S. Boat Leasing is now trending strongly, given the times we live in. Boats are a safe and healthy way for a family to have fun outside and at the same time maintain social distancing. By leasing unused days in a boat, owners are utilizing a valuable asset for a financial return on the investment. BoatTEST’s leasing program helps boat owners pay down their boat loan, as well as to cover a portion of annual operating costs. To find out more, contact General Manager Greg Sweeney at 727-200-3474 or [email protected].
