Formula 500 SSC:
Available with NEW 600-hp Merc V12 Verados
With the introduction of the new V12 Mercury Verado 600-hp outboard, Formula can now equip its 500 Super Sport Crossover with four of the new V12 engines for a total of 2,400 hp. Prior to introducing the Verado 600 on February 11, Mercury tested a 500 SSC with four of the new outboards at the engine manufacturer’s Lake X facility, hitting a top speed of 69 mph at 6400 rpm. Sailfish 272 CC:
Deep Decks and a Deep-V
Sailfish Boats is known for having some of the deepest deck measurements in class and its 272 CC is no exception. She has 37” (93.98 cm) of depth in the bow and 32” (81.28 cm) in the cockpit. Combine that security-enhancing feeling with her variable-degree deadrise bottom of 22-24 degrees, and the 272 CC can safely head offshore even on imperfect days. The Outer Reef 700 is a long-range motoryacht that feels more spacious inside than many boats in class. There’s a reason for this. Outer Reef builds the 700 from the three major molds, the hull, the main deck from the pulpit to the swim platform and the flying bridge. Deck Boat Seats 11, Tops 50 mph
The Tahoe 2150 is designed to be a do-everything deckboat that takes advantage of the extra interior space that comes with outboard power. She’s rated for 11 passengers. Her V-bottom has a sharp entry with three lifting strakes per side plus reversed chines that help the boat plane quickly. Coast Guard to Enact New Safety Rules
After Conception Fire
The dive boat Conception caught fire in the middle of the night and 34 people perished.
More than a year after the worst maritime disaster in modern California history, the United States Coast Guard is putting in place a series of rules and reforms intended to make smaller passenger vessels safer. The changes come in response to the 2019 Labor Day fire aboard the dive boat Conception that was anchored off the Channel Islands near Ventura, Calif. The incident killed 34 people and exposed serious flaws in boat safety that were later detailed by a National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigation. More...
