Galeon 560 SKY:
Fit, Finish & Convenience for Chef & Guests
The Galeon 560 Sky, noted for her hideaway flying bridge, is also distinguished by the level of woodworking both above and below decks. Note the matched grain woods in the optional dark walnut finish that's found in the galley. The chef will find plenty of counter space here, an additional island for food prep, and a raised counter for buffet serving. A large tempered and tinted glass window to the side ensures that the chef enjoys the view. The double basin stainless-steel sink can be covered with a wood-cutting surface. She also includes a four-burner induction cooktop, convection microwave, upright refrigerator and an additional refrigerated drawer. The salon and dining area are up the stairs just ahead, and the helm is to starboard. More...

Axopar 37 Sun-Top:
Comes in Colors – Including Camo
Axopar has shaken up the powerboat establishment with its radical design. The 37 Sun-Top, seen above, proudly flying the Finnish flag, will make the mossbacks gasp once again. That is Baltic Sea battleship camo, an edgy thrust by Axopar to grab attention by being out of sight, so to speak. The Axopar 37 Sun-Top is one of the lightest boats in class, up to 40 percent lighter than many center console designs of similar LOA, thanks to her relatively narrow 10’10” (3.3 m) beam and sharp taper towards the bow. The test boat with twin 350-hp Mercury Verados weighed just 10,211 lbs. (4,632 kg), which is thousands of pounds less than most in class. Not surprisingly, this results in strong performance. The test boat with 19” (48 cm) pitch 4-blade Revolution propellers got on plane in 4.9 seconds, had a top speed of 57.1 mph, and got 1.6 mpg at 4000 rpm and 36 mph. She has a double-stepped hull, a 20-degree deadrise at the transom and an ax bow with sharp, upswept forward entry. This design has proven exceptionally effective in delivering a smooth ride when it’s snotty. More...

Sailfish 290 CC:
Fishing Machine w/Picnics Possible
Like all from the brand, the Sailfish 290 CC is a hardcore fishing machine, but she can be optioned to be very family-friendly with entertainment and comfort packages. Full upholstery at the bow, including swing-away chaise-style seatbacks and a side-mount table, turn her into a comfortable bowrider – but one that’s a lot more secure and dry than most due to the high freeboard, bow flair and interior depth. Add the electric windlass and anchor with a remote up front and nobody has to get wet or salty, unless they want to. The console seat sets atop a 74-quart cooler that can be removed for provisioning ashore. The console head is larger than many, has 5’8” (1.7 m) of headroom, a vanity and sink with a retracting freshwater hose, a mirror, and dedicated, dry storage for essentials, like toilet paper. The cockpit can be similarly optioned with comforts directed at the family rather than the fisherman. More...

Cruisers Yachts 35 Express:
Premium Quality in a Family Express
The Cruisers Yachts 35 Express has loads of plush seating space in the cockpit, and the stern couch folds flat to become a broad sun lounge. The port side console seat faces aft and has a chaise-style back and headrest, giving a comfortable and shaded spot for parents to watch the kids on the towlines. The entertainment center to port includes a stainless-steel sink, with an available icemaker or refrigerator. Below, she has a master at the bow and a convertible settee amidships plus a standup head, galley with a microwave and electric cooktop, and a flatscreen TV. She’s ready for family weekending. Leopard 43 PC:
Ocean-Ranging Cat w/22’1” Beam
How seaworthy is the Leopard 43 Power Catamaran? Suffice it to say the South African builder frequently delivers these boats on their own bottoms to the Caribbean. She’s powered by fuel-stingy twin 320-hp Yanmar 8LV320s. At 1000 rpm and 6 knots, the Yanmars used just 1 gallon per hour, giving her a range of over 1400 NM with the standard 264-gallon (999 L) fuel capacity. When necessary, she can attain a top speed of 24 knots. The sharp forward entries of the twin hulls deliver a ride that’s considerably smoother than most monohulls at speed. As with most cats, she has an exceptionally broad beam for her LOA, 22’1” (6.73 m) in this case. This positions the props far apart, making for easy docking by manipulating the throttles rather than the wheel. More...

Proper & Safe Generator Installation
There’s a lot to think about in generator design, as well as how the unit is mounted in the boat. Generators are one of the most important items of equipment on a boat – but also one of the more potentially dangerous. It is here that NMMA certification of ABYC standards is critically important. See just a few of the details boatbuilders and generator manufacturers must do in order to receive NMMA certification. More...
