BocaShade:

Throwing Cool Shade on Boaters

bocashade_040320.png

BocaShade

BocaShade is a telescoping awning that provides shade relief for boaters. Intended for installation on cabin tops, hardtops and T-Tops, the Sunbrella fabric deploys by simply extending the frame by hand. Patented, durable, and capable of extending shade for boats up to 37’ (11.27 m) long, the BocaShade fabric retracts onto a roller. Tested on boats exceeding 50 mph, the BocaShade requires no additional poles, straps, or supports. Just pull it out and go. More...

Texas Launch Ramps Remain Open

texas-ramps.png

For now, launch ramps at Canyon Lake in New Braunfels, Texas, are open.

In New Braunfels, Texas, officials are enforcing the governor’s stay-at-home order, but are still letting boaters use launch ramps at Canyon Lake, effective today.

The local sheriffs’ department announced that it will be monitoring ramps to make sure they are being used only to launch and recover boats and not for social gathering. What this means is that boaters can still get out on the water provided they practice social-distancing.

This is a policy that BoatTEST.com wholeheartedly endorses and encourages other states where recreational boating can be used as a healthy, positive escape from sheltering in to adopt. The decision to keep ramps open was made in collaboration between the sheriff’s department, the criminal district attorney’s office and the Comal County office of emergency management.

Robalo R317 Dual Console

is a Prime Leasing Candidate

robalo_r317.png

This 2020 Robalo R317 is being considered for purchase on the West Coast of Florida, and BoatTEST has been asked to find leaseholders and manage the boat.

One of the dual consoles that offers particularly good value, in our opinion, is the Robalo R317. This 31-footer has a 10’6” (3.2 m) beam and is one of the widest in class. To see the BoatTEST video review and in-depth Captain’s Report, click here...

Boat leasing makes boats affordable, and given the turbulent times we live in, a lease limited to one or two years, is a prudent way to go boating – particularly when it is a boat such as the Robalo R317. The down payment and monthly payments are competitive with clubs using far smaller boats.

She will be located on the West Coast of Florida in a modern marina with full services.
