Designed for Open-Air Entertainment

mcy_66_021020.jpg

Monte Carlo Yachts 66

Monte Carlo Yachts is known for its innovative design and excellent execution of their bow lounging areas, and the new Monte Carlo Yachts 66 is one of the best. She has dual 80” (203 cm) long inward facing lounges with adjustable chaise-style backs, pop up deck lights, and mounts for the available carbon fiber stanchions that support the removable Bimini. This area can handle a dozen or more guests for entertaining or sun-lounging when she’s at anchor or at the docks. The flying bridge provides a second large open gathering area, with plenty of space for entertaining both under the carbon-fiber hard top and on the boat deck, which includes a large open-air grill and sink. The standard layout on the accommodations level is three staterooms and three heads, but a fourth stateroom can be fitted here by customer request. There’s also a cabin for two crew aft. More...

lumishore_lux_021020.JPG

Lumishore LUX Lighting Collection

Many boaters are by now familiar with Lumishore’s extensive offering of underwater LED lighting for boats and yachts, but the company also now has a full line of multi-color LEDs in the LUX Lighting Collection available above the waterline. The line includes lights that strobe, sweep, fade from color to color or pulse to a given musical beat, not only illuminating the boat but also setting the mood, whether for a large and lively party or an intimate dinner afloat. The available STV control panel has built-in 'Sound-to-Light' integration with the vessel’s on-board stereo system or iOS device and built-in WiFi control with iPhone/iPad and free companion Lumi-App on iTunes. No superyacht should be without such a system. See the details here...

Pivoting helm and companion seats on the upscale Chaparral 257 SSX OB and the optional side-mount table turns the cockpit into a social area with seats for eight or more, and there’s space for six more up front. The versatile aft lounge can be set up with angled backrests for forward- or aft-facing positioning or laid flat to create a large sun pad. The optional SeaDek snap-in deck covers provide cool, non-slip footing and easy cleanup. Check out the premium 36-ounce vinyl upholstery with vinyl accents in the photo. The seats have a UV topcoat, and two types of foam — mold-inhibiting and draining — inside. The outboard model includes a large storage compartment under the aft seat, with the seat raising easily on two stainless-steel gas-assist struts. Top speed with a 300-hp Yamaha was 52.0 mph. Tidewater 198 CC Adventure:

Economical Operation w/Evinrude G2 140

tidewater_198_021020.jpg

Tidewater 198 CC Adventure

The Evinrude E-TEC G2 140 is a compact, lightweight (415-lb.) 3-cylinder outboard that’s a good match for the relatively inexpensive Tidewater 198 CC Adventure. On the Tidewater, the thrifty 1.9-liter direct-injected engine got an impressive 5.8 mpg at a cruise of 3500 rpm and 24.3 mph. Slow her down to trolling speed of 2.7 mph at 650 rpm and she gets an amazing 13.5 mpg, which is two or three times better than all other outboards on the market. She runs on 87 octane, has no scheduled dealer maintenance for five years or 500 hours, and never needs a costly oil change. More...
