Monte Carlo Yachts 70 Skylounge:

1st MCY Enclosed Flying Bridge

Monte Carlo Yachts 70 Skylounge

Monte Carlo Yachts makes a bold statement with the MCY 70 Skylounge, the first enclosed flying bridge model from the builder. Monte Carlo Yachts’ designers rose to the challenge of blending the iconic lines that define the brand with pleasing sky lounge aesthetics. The swept lines of the main deck and windshield simply continue up to the sky lounge, creating a clean profile. Inside, the sky lounge has the vessel’s only helm with excellent visibility forward, plus a second salon with amenities. We like the sky lounge concept because it adds a lot of extra 4-season living space and more utility for a relatively low up-charge from the cost of an open flybridge vessel. More...

KVH Sales Up as Boaters Plan to Spend More Time Aboard

kvh.png

KVH’s mini-VSAT broadband products can give an entrepreneur the ability to run his business from a yacht.

KVH Industries supplies mobile connectivity and navigation systems and the Rhode Island-based company reported a 1 percent revenue gain for the first quarter of 2020. While this is just a small sales gain, we think that it’s a bell-weather development as many people are planning on spending more time aboard. Some are even going to live aboard for the summer, as a way to protect their families by social distancing. Business owners who take to spending extended time living on a yacht need the ability to communicate consistently with employees and clients, and broadband satellite communications is a terrific solution. One of BoatTEST’s captains has installed KVH sat-com equipment, used it extensively up and down the American east coast, and has found it to be excellent and trouble-free. More...

Everglades 435CC:

Premium Bluewater Center Console

everglades-435cc-050420.png

Everglades 435CC

Everglades says it has designed the 435CC to appeal to owners of large and costly battlewagons, who want to downsize into a boat with all of the fishing capabilities of a convertible. With quad 425-hp Yamaha outboards, she’s definitely faster than even souped-up convertibles, hitting a top speed of 52.1 knots at 6000 rpm. We found best cruise at 3000 rpm, where the boat burned fuel at an un-battlewagon-like rate of .7 mpg, giving her a range of 344.6 nautical miles. To ensure that the 435CC still delivers a smooth ride offshore, she has an overall average deadrise of 41-degrees and 25-degrees at the transom, the sharpest we’ve seen. More...

VirtualBOATSHOW.com

In the yachting world, the word “convertible” conjures up images of heading offshore to chase huge billfish or tuna in a rugged, multi-stateroom vessel that can also serve as a comfortable cruiser. Because they are built for challenging offshore conditions, have a low center of gravity, and from 2 to 4+ staterooms below, they can “convert” from a sportfisherman to a motoryacht. Classic names like Hatteras, Viking Yachts and Bertram dominate the 39 battlewagons featured on in the virtual boat show. More...

Nitro Z18:

Newly Refined, Affordable Bass Boat

nitro-z18-050420.png

Nitro Z18

The Z18 is Nitro’s best-selling bass model and it’s the official boat of Major League Fishing, so when it comes to changes, the company makes refinements, not wholesale changes. The new helm console is more aerodynamic, has more legroom for the driver and extra space for a larger multifunction display. Additionally, the driver and passenger seats are 1” (2.54 cm) lower in the cockpit. One thing that hasn’t changed is that the boat is still a solid value at $31,995 with a 150-hp Mercury outboard, custom trailer, and a plethora of standard fishing features. More...

Boats are a safe and healthy way for a family to have fun outside and at the same time maintain social distancing.
