Nimbus C11
Modern-Day Commuter
The Nimbus C11 is a 40’7” (12.36 m) commuter yacht designed for families who travel between the mainland and a second home on an island or similar destination. The captain and eight passengers can travel in protected confines all facing forward. Nimbus also designed her to be versatile and comfortable for a day or weekend on the water with convertible salon furniture. The twin-stepped hull can be equipped with twin outboards or inboards. Absolute 62 Fly
Teamwork Maximizes Performance
When it developed the 62 Fly, Absolute Yachts worked closely with Volvo Penta to maximize the yacht with the engine maker’s 725-hp D11-IPS950 pod propulsion systems. With this power, the 61’2” (18.65 m) flying bridge yacht hit a top speed of 32.7 knots at 2550 rpm. We recorded best cruise at 2200 rpm and 26 knots where she had a range of 342.3 nautical miles. In a light chop, she exhibited flawless handling and she responded well when maneuvering around the docks. She could be a good candidate for an owner stepping up from a smaller yacht. More...

Sunreef 80
Premium Customizable Catamaran
On its 80 catamaran, Sunreef said the superstructure was designed to create a salon plan with the potential for customization and a focus on open areas. One way the designers did this was to use loose furniture pieces that can be moved as necessary. On the flying bridge, the 581.25 sq. feet (54 sq. m) provides a large entertainment space. Belowdecks, Sunreef offers as many as four staterooms plus crew quarters. More...

Triton 206 Allure
Born to Run
Triton says that the most popular outboard engine for its 20’6” (6.25 m) 206 Allure is the Mercury 250 ProXS outboard. We tested her with the new 4.6-liter V8 version on a 6” (15.24 cm) jackplate and hit a top speed of 59 mph at 5900 rpm. She planed in 3.1 seconds and hit 20 mph in 4.7, so there’s plenty of power for pulling out a skier. Capt. Steve found that this fish-and-ski model handled best when she’s running faster than 40 mph and riding on her keel pad. Turns were predictable and comfortable throughout. More...
Pre-Owned Yacht
2006 97’ De Cesari
Atali
The Miami-based 2006 97’ (29.57 m) De Cesari, Atali, has had many upgrades over the past few years including Humphree zero-speed fin stabilization and Interceptors in 2018. That same year, she also had a new AIS and G series Raymarine electronics installed. The following year, the two Onan 22.5 kW generators were overhauled. Finally, in 2020, a new 73.97-gallon (280 L) watermaker was installed. Her MTU M70 engines have had their 3,000-hour service. More...

Using Technology to Catch Fish
We’ve all heard about 3-D and side-scanning fishfinders, apps for anglers, and GPS station-keeping “virtual” anchors. The application of this technology has become widespread among anglers. But there’s still some gee-wiz-type stuff out there that many anglers either haven’t heard about or haven’t considered for use as fish-catching tools. An angler who wants to tech more fish may want to take a closer look at all the available tech. More...

Air Conditioner Maintenance
When the temperatures soar, it’s nice to be able to escape into the air conditioning in a boat’s salon.
