Nimbus T9:

Scandinavian Day Boat w/Cabin

nimbus-t9-070620.png

30’8” T9

The 30’8” T9 is the first of Nimbus Yachts’ “Tender” series, but don’t take that name too literally, as she is a versatile day boat for entertaining, watersports, weekend cruising, or even as a tender for a superyacht. She’s one of three models offered on the same 30’8” (9.35 m) twin-stepped hull from the Swedish brand, and all exude her Scandinavian origins. Her aft settee, that can seat four for cocktails or lunch, folds down into a sun pad, and her dual swim platforms wrap around a single high-horsepower engine and extend behind it. She comes standard with a fiberglass hardtop, and our test boat was fitted with a towing pylon for watersports. Importantly, she has a bow thruster that should make docking a snap, but if it isn’t – an ultra-wide and proud rub rail will protect the boat all around. Below, she has a two-sleeper cabin with 4’11” (1.49 m) headroom and enclosed head. She has seating for eight. More...

Alumacraft Edge 185 Sport

Alumacraft designed the 18’9” (5.72 m) Edge 185 as a multi-species freshwater fishing boat that should also expect to see some family play time. Add a towing pylon to this versatile aluminum boat, and she is ready for watersports. She comes standard on a trailer ready to head to the ramp, and the price is right. More...

Prestige 520:

Evolving a Successful Concept

prestige-520-070620.jpg

Prestige 520

The Prestige 520 came on the heels of the highly successful 500 and the manufacturer didn’t rest on its laurels with the newer, larger model. The 500 was constructed with a hand-laid method, but the 520 was fabricated with resin-infusion, a process that ensures an optimum 60/40 glass to resin ratio which reduces weight and allows the longer boat to weight about the same as the shorter one she replaces. The empty weight remains about the same at 31,085 lbs. (14,100 kg), but the overall length increases from 49’10” (15.19 m) for the 50 to 52’9” (16.10 m) on the 520. One similarity the models do have is that they’re both available in an express or flying bridge models. More...
