Robalo R230:

Affordable Family Center Console

robalo-r230-051120.png

Robalo R230

The R230 is Robalo’s largest single-engine center console, which means she could be a good candidate for a family who needs a whole lot of boat but has a limited budget. For $58,995, she comes with a Yamaha F200XB four-stroke outboard equipped with SeaStar tilt hydraulic steering and a stainless-steel propeller. Also included in that standard price are a portable head in the console, a 15-gallon (56.78 L) livewell, forward and aft seating and an aluminum tandem-axle trailer. We think this boat has noteworthy value in class. More...

Captain's Report

Ocean Alexander 84R:

Premium Long-Range Cruiser

oceanalex-84r-051120.png

Ocean Alexander 84R

Ocean Alexander teamed with designer Evan K. Marshall to develop the 84R, (R for “Revolutionary”) a luxury yacht that’s available in open and closed flying bridge configurations. She has more of a contemporary design, which maximizes interior volume, but she does not have a vertical or even forward-leaning superstructure that some new boats have. The result is a sleeker, more traditional-looking coach roof on a blunt-bow hull. This design does not give up much interior space and provides a sleeker look. The flying bridge features a wetbar with a custom grill and a day head. Forward, the bow has horseshoe-shaped lounges plus a large sunpad. Belowdecks, there’s a full-beam master stateroom with his and her heads, plus a VIP cabin and two guest staterooms. More...

Formula 430 Super Sport Crossover:

Ultra-Comfortable Sports Dayboat

formula-430asc-051120.png

Formula 430 Super Sport Crossover

At the Formula 430 Super Sport Crossover’s helm, the three individual captains’ chairs have the usual fold-up bolsters and armrests, but the manufacturer known for taking things to the next level does so again. Each person can further adjust his/her riding position with power-adjustable footrests. An even cooler feature — literally — are the louvered air conditioning vents that can be adjusted to direct air forward for the captain and crew or aft to the cockpit lounge. The boat also has the cockpit, helm and bow on a single level for entertaining with a full summer kitchen. Her swim platform is long fore and aft for easy launching for watersports. Belowdecks, she sleeps four in the convertible bow and private aft cabin. More...

Support Fishing Guides & Catch Fish

sportfish-guide.png

Saltwater guides are eager to get to work and now is a great time to hire one.

The best way to ensure a successful day of sport fishing is to hire a guide. The investment is worth the money because guides know where the fish are and the best techniques to use to catch them. This is especially true with saltwater fishing. From tarpon to red snapper to sailfish, the methods used to find and catch them are quite different and guides know the little details that mean the difference between reeling in the big one and returning to the docks frustrated. Following is a list of guides who are members of the American Saltwater Guides Association (ASGA) and the areas they work. We urge you to make your booking today. More...

Boating Access

France & Spain Reopen Recreational Boating

canal-boating.png

Canal boating is one of the most popular recreational pastimes in France.

France and Spain have loosened restrictions on recreational boating. French boating enthusiasts can return to the water if they follow new rules. Typically, they must remain within 54 nautical miles of their home port. Vessels flying a foreign flag can be stopped and passengers who disembark must obey the local restrictions for that port. Vessels cannot carry more than 10 people and a captain must declare his health status when asked. The rules are valid until June 2. Generally, charter boats of all types are open for business all over Europe.

Grady-White Freedom 255

BoattestLEASING is now looking for late-model, premium boats from 26’ to 35’ (7.92 m to 10.66 m) to lease to like-minded boaters in the eastern U.S. Boat Leasing is now trending strongly, given the times we live in. Boats are a safe and healthy way for a family to have fun outside and at the same time maintain social distancing. By leasing unused days in a boat, owners are utilizing a valuable asset for a financial return on the investment. BoatTEST’s leasing program helps boat owners pay down their boat loan, as well as to cover a portion of annual operating costs.
