New Sirena Yachts 58 Coupé

Customizable Premium LRC

Germán Frers designed the new Sirena 58 Coupé to be a luxurious and functional motoryacht. Inside, she offers a number of plan options so an owner can personalize the yacht. Sailfish 272 CC

Efficient w/Twin 150-hp Outboards

The Sailfish 272 CC has the company’s signature high freeboard (which is obvious in the image above) and a variable-degree deadrise bottom that mitigates the rolling of deep-V designs. Powered by twin 150-hp Yamaha outboards, she hit a top speed of 41.3 mph in our tests. We recorded best cruise at 3500 rpm where she got nearly one mile per gallon. Larger engines are available from both Yamaha and Mercury and should push her at nearly 50 mph. More...

Safety Lanyards are Now Mandatory for

Boats 26' and Under

In case you missed it as of April 1, 2021, safety lanyards attached to the operator and the engine kill switch are now mandatory on all boats 26’ (7.9 m) and under. The reason for this is simply because if the operator falls overboard, the chances are good that the boat will run them over with tragic consequences. To make the point, the USCG Southeast created a video showing exactly what can happen. Be sure to show this video to your kids if they operate a boat.

How to Drive a Fast Boat Safely

For most people, 50 mph in a boat feels like 70 or 80 on the road. Those who have run triple digits on the water know there’s more to operating a boat than slamming the throttles forward and hanging on. Attention needs to be paid to the trim and the conditions. A driver needs to be focused and aware of their environment. Click below to learn the finer points of high-speed operation.
