New Submarine From U-Boat Worx Designed to Carry 120 Passengers

U-Boat Worx has launched a series of concept drawings of a new class of non-military submarine. The Under Water Entertainment Platform (UWEP) designed is intended to host prestigious and memorable events for up to 120 passengers including crew. She can dive to 656.17’ (200 m), says the company.

Following is a press release from the designers of this exciting new concept for inner space travel —

“The UWEP will shake up both the submarine and hospitality industry and lead the way in bespoke underwater events,” said founder and CEO of U-Boat Worx, Bert Houtman, said. “We will not only present a stellar experience for the most discerning clientele, but also a business opportunity that will benefit entrepreneurs and contribute to our understanding of the oceans.“

Guests are free to walk around just as they would aboard a cruise ship and U-Boat Worx says the submarine has more than 1,600 sq. ft. (150 sq. m) of floor space and can be designed with a variety of layouts ranging from a restaurant to a subsea gym or an underwater casino.

As a multi-purpose venue, the UWEP is suitably prepared to host product presentations, parties, weddings, conferences, or any other stage-based performance, in the most unique setting imaginable.

Fourteen windows connect the guests to the underwater world and a series of exterior lights illuminate the surroundings to add an extra dimension to night-time diving or a deep-sea dining experience.

Fully Autonomous

The UWEP runs on batteries and can operate nonstop for 24 hours. The air-conditioned UWEP is fully pressurized so there’ll be no need for decompression. Luxury heads and a galley come standard. Between cruises, the UWEP can be recharged and reprovisioned in a port or at floating dock, where guests can also comfortably board the submarine via two access hatches.
